It was a first and prospect according to athletic but idk what they actually moved. Nevermind I see it now - Upstate_isles
The prospect is a guy i never heard of and someone nobody in the rangers thread seems to care about. |

Blue taco? - potvin05
No, I think Blue taco was a Blues fan. The guy I'm thinking of was an Isles fan who didn't want the Isles to trade for Tarasenko because of his shoulder injury. He claimed to have some expertise in the field, based on his father having a bad shoulder which never got better...........or some such story. |

Their powerplay is going to be that much better. Long term isles did better with horvat although it remains to be seen if the rangers can retain taresenko. They are also 1 piece away from a run and the isles aren't. |

We need input from that poster who was an expert on shoulder injuries. - JohnScammo
Didn’t Tarasenko have shoulder surgery? |

Yeah, something like that, I think. I really don't remember. It wasn't anyone who posts here regularly now. Nor was it Gaines. |

Yup, thereby calling into question the poster's expertise on shoulder injuries. |

Fleece-job of epic proportions. The 1st rounder is the worse of the 2 picks (theirs and Dallas’). Unbelievable |

He had a full no trade so they were hindered by that |

Pts aside, I think surgery is a big deal. I’d still have taken him in a heartbeat, but perhaps that’s why a former 50 goal scorer didn’t fetch a kings ransom in return
I thought I read something about Pat Kane needing surgery on his hip and that’s affected him being traded. 🤷🏻♂️ |

I don’t know the Rangers cap situation but maybe he wants to stay long-term? |

St Louis could only trade him to a team he wanted to go to so I think that really weakened their return |

Hes 3 years older than horvat so a long term deal seems like a huge risk. If they can do 3 or 4 years I would do it |

Rangers also getting D Niko Mikkola in the deal
Rangers get:
Tarasenko
Mikkola
Blues get:
2023 1st
Sammy Blais
Hunter Skinner
2024 4th - keaner17
Huh.
Guess Bailey and two 2nds wasn’t that far off.

Both he and Mikkola are UFAs next year. That along with RFA status for Chytil, Lafreniere, Kravstov, Gauthier, K'Andre Miller and they need a backup goalie. They have $16m to spend before those extensions |
