Possibly but we have no chance of getting him. Like at all. - Cptmjl
I wonder whether they should try to get Leddy back from St. Louis? His cap hit is $4MM and he's still in his early 30s I believe. No idea what it would cost... |

I completely agree with this, however; I will say this is only one part of the problem. As I mentioned in the prior comment, our dman play when we DON'T have the puck has been terrible. I've never seen a team allow opposing teams to set up camp at the top of our crease and go as uncontested as we do. One of the places I think Sorokin is still developing his game is trying to see through traffic. He didn't have to face that nearly as much in the KHL. Our dmen make it 10x more difficult by letting guys just sit in front of him. Beau was in his face for two of those goals. How hard is it to clear his arse out of there? We trailed in turnovers last night at one point 22-6, which plays to your 'rimming' comment a good bit, not to mention guys like Romanov literally passing it to Vancouver in our own slot.
Above all, I can't remember a season where I've seen us give up so many goals due to dmen failing to switch coverages. It seemingly happens at least once a game now. - keaner17
They couldn't set up shop in front of the crease when we had Chara. |

It’s like the puck comes into our zone and everyone looks at one another like, “you got that?”, it’s maddening. It literally looks like nobody knows what to do or what their assignments are. - Cptmjl
Yeah, which is crazy because when this team was hitting the ECF, they were totally aware of one another. I kept telling my daughter they reminded me of the 1996 Red WIngs, where our dmen always seemed to know where to make a simple chip pass in our zone to get out of a jam. (which was lost on her since she wasn't born yet).
When they were firing on all cylinders, there would be a very quick one to two short passes in our zone and they were out. Now it just seems like a desperate chaotic free-for-all. The coverage is just abysmal. It's been bad all year and was bad last year. I had hoped with Pelech returning it might improve.

Probably not much at all seeing as how St.Louis is moving guys out.

After seeing what they sold Tarasenko for, it could be whatever you can shake from the vending machine

I just don't get it. We may not have the most physical defense but it's not like we're undersized. Pelech 6'3", Mayfield 6'5", Bolduc 6'4", Dobson 6'4", Pulock 6'2". Yet we don't even try to engage

I don't love Leddy, but the guy could sure skate. Lots of times he would skate the puck from one end of the ice to the other. |

Scotty Mayfield....he's talking about you. - Mancalledsting
Mayfield picked up where Boychuk left off. He used to drive me mad doing this, now Mayfield does |

He learned that from Johnny B. as well as the pin it against the boards until time runs out.

Last night in the 3rd horvat and barzal were flying up the right side and Bailey made a cross ices pass that was in precisely the only spot neither of them could handle it |

He had a few terrible turnovers too. After playing better for a couple of games, he went full Bailey. Never go full Bailey |

Went to the game last night. One of the worst performances by a D unit I've ever seen. Outside of Pulock they were an absolute embarrassment. Couldn't make a simple pass or clear to save their lives. Sororkin was only human last night but he gets a pass whenever he wants You get 5 goals on home ice you don't lose that game. Brutal loss absolutely brutal |

From the Josh Bailey is bad twitter account here's another terrible set of turnovers

That one happened right in front of me. Even I could see that Barzal wasn't even looking at him when he passed it |

I’ll say Romanov was the worst to me. Now I’ll be labeled a Romanov hater. I don’t care he was (frank)ing awful |
