I’ll say Romanov was the worst to me. Now I’ll be labeled a Romanov hater. I don’t care he was (frank)ing awful - Cptmjl

I’ll say the usual, “he’s young” and a “work in progress” which I definitely take into account but yeah he does presently suck. |

I'm liking Holmstrom a lot too, but I'm not super confident the offense will ever justify the 19th overall selection. But that doesn't mean he can't still be a real important part of the team going forward. They're going to need it.
Seems like the coaches are liking him as well, because when Parise got that penalty last night they threw Holmstrom out on the PK which is a pretty big vote of confidence in a kid with less than 30 games in the NHL |

Romanov: "Last game was terrible for me. I played really bad. Sometimes it's a bad game, sometimes it's good. Sometimes you play in waves. Still I need to improve my game every day."
At this point he could improve every day for a year and he'd still be bad. I'm starting to think the only reason we got him was so Ilya would have someone to talk to when we trade Varly |

I know he hasn’t been that player really in his career but he has been flashing some stuff that may make you think otherwise. He has been great pushing the play and has looked shockingly good in front of the net mucking it up a few times the last couple of games. He has looked great imo. |

I think the word is out that the way to beat the Isles is with a good forecheck. Every team seems to be able to keep play in the Isles' D-zone. I think it was UIF who first expressed concern a couple years ago when we lost our 2 best puck-moving d-men (Toews and Leddy) in consecutive seasons. Without that option to skate the puck out of the zone, the Isles D tries to pass their way out, often without success........especially when they try to rim it around the boards. Opposing teams all know what's coming........and the Isles get hemmed in their own zone for long stretches. - JohnScammo
Meh it’s not about puck moving Dman it’s about the team playing as a unit of 5 in the D zone and all three zones for that matter.
The team moved the puck crisply and quickly out of the zone the last few games by playing together and as a team of 5. Last night they didn’t support each other and gave the puck away probably more than they did in the last 3 games combined.
I don’t remember the exact number of give always but it was like 25. You can’t give the puck away in the NHL that much and expect to win. I don’t care what team you are playing against. |

Sorry Kane you dbag
Patrick Kane on the Rangers' Tarasenko deal: "It’s not like the happiest I’ve been to hear about a trade. ... If things are going to happen, that was a team I was definitely looking at. It seems like they kind of filled their void and went ahead and made a deal." |

Well, given our floundering in the standings, I'm guessing we're not one of those 'other' teams |

Semi bad hip and we don't have a ton to part with. I think we should be sellers at the deadline unless they win a bunch right now |

Last night was fuking brutal, but the Kraken game was pretty damn good. See what tomorrow brings. But if they can win 4 out of every 5 like they just did, they'll be in a pretty good spot. I'm not expecting this, but that's the reality. I really want to make the playoffs, but I'm ok with a quick reset if Lou decides to be a seller at the deadline based on team play. |

We play them both three more times each. We have nine more games until the trade deadline, and we play the Pens twice**before the deadline. Lou will have a good idea by March 3rd I think. They control their own fate IMO> |
