Our fourth line getting pinned in every shift doesn't help. |

Don't worry, we just need a few more months of Wood skating in a straight line and falling over for him to finally get it going. |

I can't stand watching this fourth line continue to get rotational shifts, let alone actually being in the lineup. It's incredibly frustrating. Nothing good ever comes out of them actually being on the ice lol |

I saw Toronto DFAd Simmonds. Would he offer any upside vs anyone on our current 4th line? I wouldn’t mind taking him back but haven’t seen him play in what feels like years. |

He's too slow, it'll ruin the quick transitions that we are so good at. |

Wood is cooked. Bench him for anybody who can skate at this point. |

We have Holtz just sitting in the pressbox for no reason every night anyway. And when Jack is back one of Boqvist/Zetterlund is going to sit so the 4th line can be putrid. Boqvist and Zetterlund both making something happen in their limited ice time tonight too. |

Have to think/hope Holtz is sitting because of an impending trade…. |

I thought this was a game we were going to lose in the shootout.
I thought Columbus played hard (Kenny D agreed). Interesting and new territory to be “the team to beat” for basement dwelling teams. Puts a target on our back each and every game. In the past when we played bad teams we were also a bad team.
Most importantly , 5 out of a possible 6 points without Jack thus far. |

That's not why he's sitting lol. The kid has only played 1/3 of the games so far. Ruff clearly just doesn't trust him or like his playstyle, or whatever. At this point I just hope we trade him for his own sake, because this is literally going to ruin him. Let him actually go play for somebody else. |

Why is McLeod coming off the bench with 15s left in the game in the first place. |

Think we need to pull that Meier trade and get him, need more offensive firepower
The offense looked like it struggled against a weak Columbus team and hasn't looked great since hughes left |

JH covered up a lot of offensive deficiencies of this team with his play the last 2 months. So, its no surprise to see the offense struggle without him. Secondary scoring dried up in December and hasn't really come back. Thankfully, our DMEN have been scoring (GWG too) to help mask that problem too.
Hopefully Jack is back tomorrow night but if not, we are going to have a hard time scoring more than 2-3 goals/game.

I wonder if ya'll overlooked an important feature of this Devils team -the falling behind, playing close games but ultimately winning. 5/6 pts w/o Jack and struggled through most of those, but still won.
I believe them playing this way now, is paramount for this young team to play in the playoffs. They are legit playing playoff hockey now. Once PO arrive, our OT experience will prove to be monumental in the playoffs.
They know how to win in OT, they know how to control the puck in OT (granted it'll be 5x5).
Being behind in games appears to have zero effect on their passion and intensity as they come back in 99% of those games.
Getting Timo and maybe Saad (or another playoff veteran) could be a game changer.
Anyone else excited?! |

Is it possible he just isn't THAT good? And mgmt doesn't want him to play to showcase that fact and waterdown his hype and potential?
