Not at all. He played well, not well enough to steal a game though.

Each goal he pretty much had no chance on. Yes, they were goals off of a rebound, but he made a great first save after a defensive breakdown (or while on PK).

More often than not the Devils looked lost in their own zone and the defense found themselves out of place for a couple of goals. Basically 2 D-men behind the goal line (battling against 1 player) while a Blue's player was all alone in front for a point blank opportunity.

Don't even get me started on the 4th line......

Its entirely possible the kid had a bad attitude and/or didn't practice hard. Fitz and Ruff have said since day one players need to practice hard or they wont play. I suspect this is more of what's going on than anything else.

Realistically we can swap him for Johnsson. If you're going to have a guy who isn't great you'd rather have the guy who can at least skate and doesn't just turn the puck over every time he touches it.

Thanks for this. I really want MB to succeed and stay a Devil. So if you say he played well, then it would seem he's been on a very consistent streak since he came back. When it is okay to say MB is "back"?

I do think since he’s returned from injury he’s played fairly well. I’m sure some stats guy will
come in and say otherwise, but from the eye test I say he’s turned a corner.
