They're looking for scoring in general. ROR was the best chance we had of them trying to sure up their 2C instead of going for Timo. The next best center available is like Toews and a bunch of bottom 6 guys(Bjugstad/Lafferty/Monahan/Domi/ect). Big drop off after O'Reilly.

I don't see how the Blues trade Buchnevich. PPG player with great defensive game signed to a really reasonable contract for multiple seasons after this. If they move him the return should be astronomical. Every team would want him.

Blues really aren't that bad of a team, they just have a horrible goalie on an albatross contract. I don't think they need to blow their team up.

Totally agree. Binnington is terrible. Kyrou, Thomas, Buchnevich isn’t a bad core to move forward with.

My mistake. EK mentioned Barbashev, not Buchnevich lol.

He's a healthy scratch, per the team. Definitely agree it feels like he's been playing through something though, maybe just giving him a night off/rest since is a b2b and 3 in 4.

Really nice to see Mercer getting involved again. Easy to forget he's just a 2nd year player with how good he's already been.

That might have been our best game of 2023(except for Wood, who was a total trainwreck again, but actually got benched!!!), so hopefully the team uses that to get going here. Quick turnaround against a rested Jets team tomorrow.

It's amazing when they actually expand players roles. Sharangovich and Mercer have great nights when they actually get to play with players that compliment their skill sets instead of just buried on bottom lines under our 4th liner poopters.

These were great lines.

Bratt and Hughes just makes perfect sense. Mercer will grow so much getting 20 min a night. Bahl is really playing well - simple, safe game doing little things that matter.

The only reason Smith plays is to get the Devils more PIM. Completely useless like Wood.
