Terrbile is not the issue right now. I specifically said lying. He has said multiple times:
He doesn't like changing the line up after wins.
He doesn't like ling juggling.
He knows what the ideal lines are.
He's done the exact opposite of that all year. Are the Rangers good? Yes is that coaching? Maybe. Is it the fact they are a talent group of players for the most part? Probably. - tomburton99
If there was another coach here, would they give the players the runway to play a game based on their talents? Torts is the obvious extreme, but there are A LOT of coaches that force a system on a team that hamper players.
If we’re going to knock GG for “doing nothing”, it should be mentioned what the effects of that is. And it’s winning hockey games. Something he’s done a lot of since he got here. |

He's not doing nothing. The group clearly has responded to him better than Quinn. So he has to be doing something. What I'm asking is why are saying one thing and doing another. (Not you, him.) |

Coach’s instinct? Maybe he truly doesn’t like to do some of the things he’s doing, but feels compelled to do them after studying tape/discussing with the staff?
It’s not always a linear line to success. It’s annoying, but I don’t care what he says or does as long as they lead to us winning games. |

go to target and pick it up. it's the only one they don't sell in one of the large jugs for some reason. maybe because they make more money if their patrons don't all get type 2 diabetes |

Isn't there a difference between doesn't like it and isn't willing to do it?
My problem is where you just can't seem to admit that a former NHL player (and a good one at that) with a pretty stellar coaching record knows more than you do. Have you ever wondered why no team in the league just goes without a coach and let's the talented players just figure it out on their own? Why wouldn't the owners save about $4M a year if it wasn't a necessity? The fact is that he just isn't doing what you think he should, so that makes him wrong in your eyes. |

Every team needs a coach, I never said they don't. I also said he's better then Quinn. What I'm asking is why he's willing to make his line up worse with player personnel decisions. Like I said yesterday, I can't do it anymore. I'm doing now because people got mad that Pickle and I question the guy, all of this overnight without me stirring the pot, which is wild. |

Agreed.
But, you're definition of "worse" is based solely on analytics. Gallant is basing his line up decisions off of who is driving play while also being defensively responsible enough to ensure we are ahead when the final buzzer goes. Draft position, talent level, talent potential... none of that matters if you're not going to commit to the team plan and reduce the number of high danger mistakes. I'm not saying that you are basing things off of these. But, it shouldn't make our heads spin that he is constantly assessing player's contributions and trying to piece together the best possible line up. |

You realize that "Butter" was Strome's nickname when he was with Panarin, right? Getting a little confusing sometimes. |
