@StLouisBlues

Barbashev drawing plenty interest from multiple clubs. Return could be 1st or 2nd Rd Pick + Prospect. His salary is affordable to suitors, Blues could retain some to sweeten offers and return.

Rentals, I think, would/should be out for us. Unless it’s cheap to get, ie- motte

Agreed. They should try and hold on to their other 1st. They need to find the Vatrano's and Mottes again for cheap

Motte is a very good idea again, because even the retainment shouldn’t be to costly to have added in the deal

yeah, they should hold onto their 1st and probably their 2nd

they have Colorado's 3rd and that's likely in play

That’s the Blackhawk- Trouba meltdown game? That was the turning point of the season without a doubt

I just have PTSD when they traded all those 1sts during the 2012 or 2013-2017 stretch. Set them back big time

I see both sides of that argument, that they traded all those picks, but then there is also people who say they didn't try hard enough to get Lundqvist a better team in front of him

Tbh you could argue not really, since we're already back to contender "go for it" status after a mere 3-4 year "rebuild". Yes there was some luck involved with the lotteries and Shesty, as well as a big help by being a desirable location to play pulling in Fox and Panarin. But overall I'd say we made out pretty well all things considered trading away all those picks and not winning a cup in the early-mid 2010s. We could have been bad for much longer.

I mean that's a lot to give up for a guy who's gonna play 3rd line minutes. Think about what they just gave up for Mikkola and Tarasenko.

They tried to win. So I understand why they did that. Just couldn't get over the finish line.

Yes, and to those who said how with Kane. Having Kane and Teresanko in the top 6 with their playoff experience? Sorry... sign me up.

Form the article:

Although the Rangers recently acquired Tarasenko, it is still possible for them to bring in Kane as well. If the Blackhawks retain 50% of his salary and a third team also takes on 25% of it in exchange for the Rangers’ 2024 fourth-round pick, this move could occur. Therefore, if a Kane blockbuster were to go down, Kravtsov would surely stand out as a major trading piece heading the other way. With him, the Rangers would also need to part ways with their 2024 first-round pick and a prospect like Matthew Robertson.
