Scouts know what these players can offer. GMs also know.

The word showcasing shouldn't be used.

This is really getting old you know... I wish you had something else to do in life than pick on every little thing, but whatever if that's how you get your joy.

Allen is worth more to the habs than what they'll fetch for him imho, Montembeault is good but he needs a steady partner and Primeau most likely isn't ready yet.
- Pat1993

I mean, it's worth it to lose more games IMO.

Dude works for Ubisoft, he's probably had his ass squeezed, sexually harassed and verbally abused all day. Let him have this.

Question is, could it be Kent Hughes' cup of tea? He's said that Montembeault isnt going anywhere...and Gagnon was reporting last week that he expect Primeau to get an extended look in the NHL before the end of the season...

but in that case, would Hughes be keeping Montembeault because he thinks they'll lose a bunch of games with him in net? I don't think he's necessarily looking to tank further

For the right price, I don't mind them trading Allen.

sure, but for me it would still take an overpayment, if not I'd just keep Allen. we'll see how Hughes gets active on the trade market this year soon enough.

What is the worst that happens? They lose 3-4-5 more games then they might have?

Also, this might be the time to see if Primeau has the goods or not - has he improved enough or not? Only so long he can remain the Habs without developing.

I am pretty sure HuGo have a plan and I am not too worried if one of the goalies is sent packing.

Primeau will have to clear waiver next season so if he is not ready to take a full time job in the NHL, odds are they will lose him for nothing.

what about next year though? just go with Primeau and Monteambeault, no matter what happens?

it isn't that I'm "worried" Allen will get traded, I just don't think it'll be worth it in the end.

yeah, they already have Allen, just keep him for (frank)'s sake.

I'm just not on the "trade Allen bandwagon", it's all good

that doesn't make any sense.
if he is not ready to take a full time nhl job, why would any gm claim him?? once a player is claimed, he has to stay in the nhl, otherwise he has to go through waivers once again.

I guess if they can get a good asset for Allen and sign a goalie without having to give an asset on the UFA market, they might see it as a plus from an asset management point of view.

more of a health check than showcase
- Symba007

this and...GMs arent doctors but teams do have a medical team to assess health stuff. Healty or not.

Also remember that at this time of the year, most players have des ptits bobos.
