that doesn't make any sense.
if he is not ready to take a full time nhl job, why would any gm claim him?? once a player is claimed, he has to stay in the nhl, otherwise he has to go through waivers once again.

- fidopro

the danger is MTL has 2 healthy goalies, put Primeau on waiver, another team as injuries at the goalie position, they claim him. There is always that risk with waiver.

and that's why many teams now draft russian goalies. they can stay in the khl until they're 25, no worry about waivers.
Hughes has to decide if he takes the risk of losing Primeau on waivers, or if he trades Allen or Monty to make room.
it will be interesting to see.

This is really getting old you know... I wish you had something else to do in life than pick on every little thing, but whatever if that's how you get your joy.
- Karine Hains

what are you talking about?
This is a hockey forum no?

The word showcase is being used here and there and I find it laughable when we are talking about vets that most scouts and GMs know what they bring to the table.

If it was a kid, lets say RHP, then the word would be better used.

Dude works for Ubisoft, he's probably had his ass squeezed, sexually harassed and verbally abused all day. Let him have this.

What is the worst that happens? They lose 3-4-5 more games then they might have?

Also, this might be the time to see if Primeau has the goods or not - has he improved enough or not? Only so long he can remain the Habs without developing.

I am pretty sure HuGo have a plan and I am not too worried if one of the goalies is sent packing.

- Mashadar

Agreed with everything.

Primeau's hot right now...time to see if it translate to the NHL (take 431451).

Also that Russia has been pumping out great/good goalies since the 2010.

I don't think the word should strictly be used for younger guys, and I don't get why this is "laughable" lol...

So you are telling me that these players aren't playing to avoid injuries?

While injured players are being showcased for the Habs!!!

Hopefully one of them can either find the back of the net or avoid pucks from finding the back of the net.

Another great expression that Howie loves soooo much.

Well yes...players coming back from injuries need to prove they are good to go, healthy players are good to go. Not that hard to understand for everyone else it seems... very strange.

Slight difference between proving and showcasing.

One can say that the team is showcasing the abilities/strenght of player X in a favorable context (that's what a showcase is: exhibiting something or someone especially in an attractive or favorable aspect).

The only time I've seen the word showcase and health in the same "context" was at player combines.

In other words, scouts and GMs around the league know what the strenghts and abilities that Big Ed and Jake possess. Playing them more often or on different lines won't make these players "better looking".

We can agree with what you just said, "need to prove they are good to go, healthy ".

Let’s talk
@NYRangers
now ; perhaps they get a 3rd Rd Pick or Prospect in a trade for young F Kravstov. They know they’re
@StanleyCup
Contenders, hence the Tarasenko deal, and maybe more to come
