Only decent RDH on the market…not likely that would be a fine contract but I don’t see it |

Nobody likes Brock. Not even his own dog - CanuckDon
understood, but I’m not frantic to trade him because I believe his value is so low. Brock is not going to help us get a quality d-man so play him as a one-dimensional sniper that he is and wait until his contract expires.
Even if he’s useless on the ice, they could have marketed him better by cashing in on the whole “flow” thing and his sad family situation. That sh it is gold to a soft fan base that loves a good looking player with a sob story to tell. |

Trade for Soucy. - VanHockeyGuy
I'd say Canucks don't need more 3rd pairing D but that might not be true. |

BB's 6.65M is better spend elsewhere like D via hopefully another trade.
Lucic is a UFA after this season, take the 1st and run. - VanHockeyGuy
Done, 100% no brainer
Save 1.4 mil pro rated this season to add more cap dumps
Save 1.4 million next season and still suck.
Then gone...
Calgary misses the playoffs this year and that 1st gets another lottery ball or 2 added to the drum.
Plus my dream of 3 dmen drafted by the Canucks in the 1st round |

You prefer to give him away like VHG when in no rush?
Don’t see why that can help to panic fire sale to appease all those fans who say it but then go off & criticize it later. Let the FICKLE live. Lol - Nighthawk
You are assuming that he will up his value... |

This is where I differ with a lot of you guys and it is all good and makes a fun discussion.
My thinking is the forward group is just fine (mostly).
This summer move Myers and buy out OEL and you have lets say fifteen mil if you dump the slugs like Dermott Stillman Bear. I would come back with Hughes and Schenn only. Pick up two FA that cost around three mil each and draft D like a motherfucker except for the top 10 pick.
Like Mini says no need to twiddle thumbs for a couple of years waiting for contracts to end. - VANTEL
I agree the forward group is just fine. (Mostly)
We don’t just throw any F away & also take on a cap dump from a rival for good measure. That’s dumb on the level of JB moves.
It’s not even a hockey trade. |

Those two will be expensive and the contracts won’t age well. Especially Severson. - CanuckDon
On Gavrikov if 5/4m maybe less I’m ok with it. Severson I think will want more but shouldn’t get it. |

At his salary, no. He's slow and VAN also has plenty of forwards. Why hoard them when there's other holes to fill? - VanHockeyGuy
Because you win championships by building from the wings in. |

Unpopular opinion but when has that stopped me.
Myers and OEL are a good as any Ufa that we could pickup in free agency for 3M.
Trade Myers next year for bigger returns and buy out OEL when the penalty is less and we're actually needing the cap space to be competitive. Next year we shouldn't be going for the cup, we should be building for the future |

Agreed with all of this except the Myers / OEL pair as good as any FA < 3mil. You can find decent FA D signing a week or so after July 1, that can be value contracts. Those 2 are not value... |
