I see him as a Schenn type signing. Or even a better comparison Burroughs. Bottom pairing.
I am attracted more for the Russian factor. I think having a few Russians would make this a landing spot for Russian players. I mean we have had Brad Hunt and Stillman in the past the bar is set pretty low.
- VANTEL
He's 27 and currently signed at 2.8... don't think he'd take a discount to come play in the poopshow that is Vancouver |

Mixed signals. A lot of fans saying we won't compete in two years but don't want to wait 4 for BPA. - VANTEL
I'm fine taking him, I'm just thinking Management wants to compete in 2 years, so it is hard to imagine them taking a guy with a 4 year KHL contract when there will be a player ready in 2 available. |

I will give you what I am thinking which is not worth a lot. You won't like it but Canucks have done a lot of things we don't like so I am going with a gut feelin.
I don't think there is a valid offer for Boeser or Myers otherwise they sit out like Schenn.
Schenn to Boston for Frederick.
Canucks first (NYI) and Podkolzin for Chychrun
OEL never plays another game for Canucks opens up 7 mil.
Sign a tough guy for next year under 1.5 mil.
Draft Michkov
Sign Gravikov and another D in summer.
Trade Myers after bonus.
Trade Demko to LA for Grans and a first.
Bring back Schenn. - VANTEL
That looks ugly. |

We’re eating cap for the Rangers on Kane. Should be announced tonight or early tomorrow. |

This is from an Athletic article about trading for him this TDL, but signing him would also be a mistake (reads a lot like Tyler Myers) - NewYorkNuck
If the bloggers at the Athletic had it there way, there would be zero hitting and fighting would be a 10 game suspension.
They like pond hockey. |

I really can't say if Michkov is BPA, as most have seen very little from him in the past year and a half. |

Better be getting at least a second or better. I hate Chicago and I hate the Rangers. Better not be helping those franchises in any way. |

His KHL production is better than Ovi, Tarasenko, Breadman at the same age. |

Teams are receiving 4th and 5th rounders to do so, I’m hoping for more… but that seems to be the going rate. |

I wouldn't mind 2 extra 4th rounders for nothing. |

Rangers don't have a 4th this year or next, Canucks own 1 of those picks from Motte trade, so it will have to be a 3rd. |

I thought I read somewhere that a 4th round pick has a 10% chance at making the NHL (based on past NHL draft stats). I don’t know if I would be willing to help either of those two teams for a 10% chance at drafting a NHL player. But I hold grudges so wouldn’t make a good GM. |

That is where I think the team is thinking. |

I would think the more they retain in actual dollars, the higher the pick. |

Either way we need some toughness if Schenn is traded. Reaves would be great IMO. Would love to see someone take a run at Petey or Hughes with Reaves out there. Un less the country-club here turns him into a pussy that is. - LordHumungous
Apparently no according to some in here. |
