couche pour adulte, Laval has a chance to make the playoffs, might see a few guys like Belzile, Ylonen and Barron and RHP go back for a push
- Symba007

you still need other guys to come back from injuries if you want to send them down... anyway I'd like to see the Rocket have success for sure, but the NHL experience these guys are given right now might be more valuable than in the AHL.

Why would Drouin ruin all of those nice jerseys for those nice kids???

Haven’t they been through enough???

no, the gestapo, uh I mean WaterBoy, doesn't allow you to use that word, unless it's for a very specific context.

12 assists in his last 12 games.

Who wouldn't give the moon for that?

HuGo could also pick up some "dead cap contracts" (and picks) to fill the lineup t'ill the end of the year to help Laval with the "good" kids stuck on this trainwreck.

I'll take anything at this point. Good kid that still got talent. He would be great playing with his buddy in Col.

yeah. or he could also consider that what this team is going through right now is a very positive culture-building experience.

Hughes that is. because HuGo doesn't (frank)ing exist.

I mean, they most likely will still lose a bunch of games but there's a lot to like from what this roster is giving us, personally I wouldn't want to pull the plug on that.

It's a delicate balance of build now(kids in the lineup learning valuable stuff) versus build for the future with possible picks for picking up du bois mort.

the "bois mort" seems to have a lot less value for the TDL than anticipated, but I agree it's a delicate balance. let's hope Hughes and Gorton have a few tricks up their sleeves to make the most of it.

Should be an interesting next 2 weeks, glad it is HuGo running the show and not the bicep club.

I see them maybe acquiring a bad contract and a pick or prospect to help a team clear cap space. Waive wire is also another option with team looking to clear cap space

yeah, Bergevin was fairly good at making trades, but clearly lacked vision for the development/drafting side of things, hopefully this new management team will have all bases covered... things are sure looking good so far.

he made some great ones but also some bad ones. where he sucked was signing UFA's and signing new contracts for his own players that he loved, he overpaid Price and Gallagher big time.

I mean, if you overpay for a guy you think is the missing player to get your team over the top that is fine.

Seemed like MB thought every player he signed was the one to put the team over the top, when in reality, he did not address the true weaknesses of his teams (or even understand them).

His strategy seems to be just good enough to get to the playoffs (which he sometimes did, especially with the help of Covid) and assume Price would take over.

I think they'll try to move some contracts and that they might be ready to "pay" to get rid of them.
Then again... who knows how high the prices will go. We might end up with a similar 2022 deadline

I think there is more likely a chance that the Habs pick up an expiring contract and get some assets with that, to help facilitate other trades than for the Habs to acquire another 1st or any long-term players that will help with the rebuild.

no reason to do that with Drouin and Dadonov, they are UFA after this season. Hoffman has 1yr left on their deal, Armia has 2yrs, no need to pay someone, not like the Habs are in contending mode for the next 2yrs. Armia is useful when healthy, Hoffman is streaky offensively and useless in his zone.

For me, the real question is will they move one of Dvorak, Armia, Anderson, Allen....I guess it depends on the return, no urgency in moving them unless the return meets HuGo's expectations.
