I wouldn't exactly call him a knuckle dragger,, but he will throw down. Would like to see what Donnie could do with him. Be some Twin Towers there with Power and Foote.

Yeah, every term we used to use just has to have a modern relativity to it. Maybe Radko Gudas is an actual knuckle dragger. there sure aren't many left.

I want someone who can actually play and throw down, like a Jeannot. I think we have someone like that Nadeau in are system. He just needs to progress, that shoulder injury set him back.

Those guys are hard to come by. In the meantime, it would be nice to have somebody who can dress every third game to play a role. For instance, the Tampa game coming up. They're going to be in Dahlin's business all game. He can clearly handle it, but if we had a thug to dress we nip some of that in the bud. And, perhaps prevent it altogether in future meetings. No doubt they'll have someone crosschecking Tage in the ass all game too.

I'd rather have an influx of tough-to-play-against guys, like Timo, Crouse and another at 2RhD who can actually play the game while bringing an element of physicality to the team. Then, all the boys need to play team tough together.
Beat their opponents on the PP when the dirty play ensues.

Cal Foote, while big and physical is a liability due to below average skating..he is slow on his feet. (Edit and The Bolts have the best skating coach h in the league.
I'd pass.

Unfortunately his skating does hurt him, do you really think it's worse than Samuelsson's though.

Funny you look at some of the Top teams in the NHL, and a lot seem to have some nice D man in there system. Tampa still has Thompson, Schmidt and Vegas has Korczak, Mirmarnov.

Curious what you mean by the above?

He just turned 26.

He's never really been an offensive producer.

Is he more than a 4th line player?

Shouldn't the Sabres aim higher in terms of impact players to bring in?

- kingcong39

I'd say a good 3 Rd liner

What I meant by that is his feet and head don't seem to be working together
Now maybe he just ain't going to be a good skater
But the Thompson comparison possible
Just needs to put both together
No not saying he's anywhere near Thompson
But I do believe he needs a change of scenery
And would add a dimension we don't have anywhere in our organization

They say all of the St. Louis guys have NTC. I doubt we've reached the point someone would waive, but maybe.

You know who they would waive for…… a team in the playoffs.

We could still afford him, but in 2 years we would have to find an NHL-level farm team (like the Buffalo Sabres) to take a bad contract. Good teams have been doing it for years.

Over their last 10:
BUF 6 - 3 - 1

SJS 3 - 5 - 2
TOR 6 - 3 - 1
TAM 6 - 2 - 2
FLA 5 - 4 - 1
WAS 4 - 6 - 0
CLB 4 - 4 - 2
BOS 6 - 3 - 1

Over the last 5 (which may be a better indicator given the break)
BUF 1 - 3 - 1

SJS 2 - 3 - 0
TOR 3 - 2 - 0
TAM 3 - 0 - 2
FLA 3 - 2 - 0
WAS 2 - 3 - 0
CLB 2 - 2 - 1
BOS 3 - 2 - 0

We better keep scoring 5+. San Jose is a must win. For some wonderful reason we own Toronto at home. We have zero chance against the Tampa Bay Lightning. We always find a way to lose to Florida. Washington is a must win. Columbus a must win. Sorry folks, Boston will remember Cozens stripping Bergeron en route to Tuch winning the game. Loss.

4 - 3 If we can snag a loser point or two it would really help. If we manage 5 wins over those 7 games I will be blown away. I'm being glass half full with 4 wins, but we have to have 4 wins.

Wonder if Ovechkin will be back for that game with his dad having passed yesterday.

The scheduling fun continues with the next 7 after the grouping above: Lightning, Oilers, @Islanders, Stars, Rangers, @Toronto, @Washington

The NHL trade deadline is Friday 3/3 at 3PM, the day after the Bruins game that ends the next 7 game stretch.

Curious what kind of result the Sabres will need over the next 7 to potentially entice Adams to make a move.

Adams had options last year to sign some Rochester depth guys. He choose to go with veterans
Hopefully this year he can sign one or two
There definitely available

The way I see it everyone in the Eastern Conference has a beast of a schedule. Isle v Pit tonight for example. There's no easy path. If we're one of the top 8 teams in the East, we will rise.

He would need to produce like he never has before to be a good 3rd line player, unless your other 2 players on the 3rd line really carry him.
