Agreed.
The forward group still needs improving, but it's glaring how different the team looks when Dahlin or Power are driving play, compared to the negative impact any of the other defenders have when they try to drive play offensively.

It is, and with the what ever D system Granato is running they need to find a couple D that can skate and are Decent 2 way Defenseman. If Johnson walks they are in trouble. His transition game would fit nicely. You can't always go out and buy a player you need, Sabres really need to work on the D prospects |

We've also seen what costs definitively more to acquire in terms of assets in trades, comparing defenders to forwards.
Thinking Dahlin and Power are enough long term would be making the same mistake in thinking Eichel was enough after they drafted him. |
