Why in the world would the Sabres be looking for a guy that might not be available when he's needed?

Aside from what everyone else is saying : A trade that makes sense now and in the future?
You want this trade for now and 2 more years.
Powers 21 - 22 and 23 year old years.
When we just learned with dahlin, it takes several years.

It's not about whether he can make big saves. We all know he can. It's will he let in two dogs or not. Last night zero bad goals and we win.

Chicly makes perfect sense now and in future. If he doesn’t fit into plan in contract year you trade him at the deadline for a first and recoup some assets. We literally have nothing in the near term pipeline D except Johnson, if he signs. And best case senario, Johnson is a 4/5 D

What is wrong with spreading the wealth out if you can make 2 really good pairings. As long as it makes the team Better is all that should matter.

His angles isn't the issue, the issue I see is he overplays the puck and even then most times he is hung out to dry by his defense.

Reading the play? I don't think we are talking about the same goalie. Maybe you don't watch every game.

The cross slot setups that leave UPL hung out to dry is usually 1-2 goals a game every game.
