I'm not sure anyone actually thinks this. They just don't want to admit Adams could be doing much better.

I have read many comments that say pretty much that. “This is a development year!”, is the claim. Every year is a development year and every year is a year that a team owes it to its fans to do its best to make the playoffs. They are not mutually exclusive. Matter of fact, if intelligently done then they always should be goals that a team reaches for hand in hand. IMO

year after year the sabres stink

thus this place stays the same

- homiedclown

The place sometimes stinks because there is such a heavy population that loves when things aren't great. For some reason there is pleasure in repeating how everything stinks, pointing out how long its been since we made the playoffs, etc. For me that is the most exhausting part of this board.

assuming tage, skinner, tuch, peterka, cozens and quinn are 6 of your 9 fixtures in your top 9

is casey a better long term fit than our 15 prospects to round out the top 9, esp with the lack of D casey plays?

- homiedclown

Amazing that question, or anything like it, has never been asked to Kevy Adams.

Why do you keep pounding this point? Nobody is going to ask that because it isn't within 100 miles of something that any GM would answer.

When the team management quits on a season it's never going to be popular. Matt Savoie quite obviously doesnt move the needle as much as this being the 12th year instead of the 1st year.

The NHL roster not being the team's top priority is never going to be a winner for a large portion of the fanbase.

I regularly say this but there is a context to it. Nobody has said that we can't make moves. A "development year" is preaching patience when you have so many young kids. They need to play and have room to fail sometimes. If we believe in a kid, I don't want to have the Cody Eakins of the world brought in and thus take away from their development.

I think the only real controversy here is how much some of us are willing to spend in a "hockey trade". Everyone would love Meier and Chickenman.

But, how does it feel to have fans coming back into the KBC? We want to know.

Management hasn't quit, they just aren't making moves that you want. Or rather, haven't yet. There is always a lull a few weeks before the trade deadline before prices fall.

And this would be interesting... how? We know exactly what he or any other GM would say. "Say Kev, what's it like to get a tall blonde in the sack?".

and for the record he has been asked that many times and gave the exact answer you'd expect.

Welp, we're all waiting. Nobody's going to be happier when Meier flies home with us, and Karlsson flies out to Edmonton.

Sabres lose 4 straight putting big hit to their 1st time in 12 years playoff chances. Fans are pissed.

Need at 11.

Glad WGR can talk Bills again this morning…..

Do they know the Sabres exist ?

- Swedish_Jesus

The continued relatively mediocre attendance since the Bills were eliminated suggests the answer is "no". They're playing at a level now that is making the die-hards optimistic, but in the overall big picture, they're still not even in a playoff spot yet...again. The only thing that's going to bring this city back to the team en masse is the win column.

Again, prices seem to be high right now. I would be shocked if he didn't make any trades as I think there are at the very least mid-sized moves to be made. If he is to be faulted it was to not go out and get help early in the year when we really needed it.

Attendance is up 5k this year. That is a gigantic jump, especially when you consider the terrible slump we had in november. People get way too wrapped up about dips in attendance on a tuesday night in january.

I honestly don't know. I've always thought of him as more of a teacher than a coach, if that makes any sense. What he's gotten out of a number of these players is nothing to sneeze at. However, he has yet to show he can win at this level. Whenever this team has "needed" a win under him, they've crashed and burned, hard. See the Carolina game right before the break. However, the sample size isn't that big either.

I think the question is, how many coaches could you go out and get where you are sure you'd have an upgrade? There are 30 Rick Tochets available to recycle - I want no part of any of them.

Depends if he can grow as the team does. Can he change from a Wide Open Style to a more Balanced system with Defensive help.

It looks impressive because the bar was only six inches off the ground to begin with. They're still bottom five in the league.

Fitz finally leaves and this place stays the same 🤦‍♂️

Well, sure, but this is an area where you just don't double your attendance from one year to the next. People need to be convinced. Also, the pandemic got people used to watching from home - I think people like me realized that they prefer that.

Krebs Quinn Mitts Jost all played well last night.

Olofsson was awful

Okposo and Girgensons looked bad

Tage is still pressing too much.

Pp2 is better than their Pp1.
