That’s because Timmins is the 7th defenceman. If you’re going to be pissed off at Keefe be pissed off at him for that, not because Timmins is a healthy scratch. He’s not a healthy scratch. They wanted to get him into a game. They got him into a game (easy decision because Holl was poop) and now he sits again until he gets into another game. Next year he replaces Holl.
Don’t make me go get Dozzer. - Canada Cup
That’s kind of a terrible excuse for healthy scratching timmins. How do we know he’s a 7th dman. He plays well whenever he gets a chance. He’s just not getting time to play and frankly has been better than 1-2 defenseman each game he plays in. |

I didn’t say it was a good excuse. I said it wasn’t a healthy scratch for Timmins if he’s the 7th guy. Keefe trusts Holl more. That’s a different debate. Not saying I agree with Keefe but that’s where we sit. |

But the question is, will Samsonov play?
Apparently he missed today - not feeling well. |

Fair enough. I just think timmins has played well when given a chance. Scratching him so quickly seems aggressive. |

I think Keefe was telling Holl to smarten up after a poopty game and making sure Timmins gets in occasionally. If we see Timmins and Holl start to switch it up more often then maybe Keefe is thinking more along the lines of most of the fan base. Until then, we’ll see mostly Holl with Timmins every once in a while. |

His points per game rate is better then any Dman on the roster and is still young enough to keep on improving. Dubas done did good on that one...

Mike Augello: Are The Leafs Looking For a Twofer From Blues?? New Convo - mikeinbuffalo
I’m out of town making fat stacks so the missus asked me to get a $300 room at the curio for a belated valentine’s celebration😍👍🏿
she canceled this morning (didn’t feel like making a 10 hour drive) so i’m stuck with a non refundable $300 room 🤦♂️
that’s a long way of saying that the laffs aren’t the only ones looking for a twofer😉👍🏿
what a (frank)ing joke 🤦♂️
edit:nice alliteration 👍🏿 |

Parayko has 7 more years at 6.5 AAV and a full NTC that runs 4 years beyond this one.

They would both be great but at $6.5m for Parayko and $2.25 for Barbie, Leafs would need almost $9M in Cap Space.
Kerfoot
Engvall
Holl
Sandin
=
$7.15
+ Muzzin $5.65 (if he's finally done)
= $12.8
Jeannot +$800k
So for $9.8 million in you get Parayko, Barbie and Jeannot and go into the playoffs looking like this:
Bunting, Matthews, Nylander
Barbashev, Tavares, Marner
Jeannot, Kampf, Jarnkrok
Steeves, Holmberg, ZAR
Rielly, Parayko
Brodie, Lily
Gio, Timmins
Benn, Mete
Samsonov
Murray
With an extra $3m in cap space.
(frank) ya, I'd like that line up for the playoffs a lot better. |

I think you are over complicating things cupsie. Timmins = 13 points in 21 games, Holl = 11 points in 54 games. When Shanny and Dubas saw this they asked Keefe - why for you playin 31 yr old soon to be UFA over 24 yr old that we just signed for 2 more years? Besides that Holl is afraid of his shadow Keefe, do you want to play a game of one of these things is not like the other?
