I honestly dont feel like meier was ever coming to Toronto.

I dont think Meier is or really was in play with cost acquisition. Rumor is SJ wants D prospects and maybe Sandin goes but it is possible SJ doesn't want him or like other leaf prospects.

Maybe, but I wouldn't say the door is closed if Dubas is willing to get creative. I think they have the assets, but it would be wounding their future and I'm not sure how worth it it would be.

What is considered his radar? Making a call? I dont think the cost was ever close to what Dubas would pay for him. Seemingly other GMs feel the same way.

Yeah, most of that doesn't describe the player I watch. Or the player most scouts watch.

Personally, I'd trade most things to get him on the Leafs. And the cost would be worth it because he's got term remaining on his deal. Be even better if the Coyotes would retain some $$$, too.

It's literally more crunched than the major junior arena in my own city.

I feel like the media has really taken the run on this for AZ. Chychrun is a talented hockey player there's no doubt, but I see Rielly at age 24. A high ceiling but lots of runway to go, and who knows how complete that game becomes over the course of that runway.

He's locked in, if he was the franchise defender some want to make him out to be, this wouldn't be a thing. Seth Jones, who is a very capable defenceman who could actually defence hasn't hit that ceiling as he's been punted around either.

He could develop into a quality #1 defenceman in my opinion... Could... But it's not now. He's not a scale tipper a contender, and I'm hesitant the warts cure as time goes by. He fits for an NJD, not the leafs, and that's before you sell off half your future for him.

I know but I was thinking maybe he extends. Kampf is 28 and Acciari is 31. More likely Acciari would be willing to take less to be in a spot for longer than Kampf. I really like Kampf but I can see him testing FA.

I should say I like theres 3 options for 3rd line center for next year. Hopefully one signs.

That's why I had Sandin to SJ in my Gm'ing made easy post.

Not that I think the Leafs are gonna actually trade for Meier or anything, but I do think the Leafs have a leg up on most other teams if they offer Sandin, because of the reported ask of a D-man. And I don't think other teams can/would offer better than Sandin.
