Columbus, Phoenix, need a 3 point game. - LAHawk
Agreed. I’m watching the game (for now) and Columbus is VERY bad at hockey. |

Claude Giroux at last year's TDL - 57 games, 18G, 24A, 42 points. Returned a 1st, a 3rd and a prospect when traded.
The over the hill, injured, uninspired Patrick Kane so far this season - 52 games, 14G, 27A , 41 points. |

If Kane wants to be traded it will be about honouring his request rather than the return. If Kane is dealt I’m expecting something like two 2nd round picks and a b-level prospect (maybe a former 1st rounder who hasn’t panned out yet). |

Like i said Stauber makes enough big saves to give his team a chance to win. And he was fantastic in this game. - BetweenTheDots
Agree you were right. Could you believe Jack Johnson with the very late ill advised pinch and then even later letting them split the D for a break away. |

Not only was he good but he seems so efficient. Very little wasted motion. Does not lose his goal. It would be nice to have a few quality goalies and from that group a #1 emerges. |

Coach Richardson should investigate whether its legal to put 2 goaltenders in net at the same time. Because with that group of defenceman in front of only 1, the chances of winning very many games is limited. They just happened to get lucky tonight because Leaf coach said his team was "very tired". |

Well, thank you Patrick, for having your wife and baby sit near the glass.
Thanks for the three gold performance.
Now start answering the phones.
Do the Wings REALLY consider themselves a contender? (I heard them say that today.) Maybe they want to come up with a nice offer starting with their 2023 first rounder plus.
Can New Jersey be serious to add Kane as more than a rental? If so, they certainly have some excellent pipeline products and I would expect one plus that late 2023 #1 too for the luxury of signing Kane. Too many good prospects to not get Patrick to listen to their pitch.
If the deal with LA Kings, just ask and stay firm on Byfield.
No Spence, No Turcotte, and I want a first round pick too.
They get the big man they envisioned Dach to be, and this time they won’t rush it.
Minnesota I think needs a centre and not a winger.
But you have to like their player stable and although they probably won’t budge on I ask for Liam Öhgren and their first. The Wild got that stipulation that kept the Blackhawk return low on Fleury. No more breaks And while we are at it, I start my asks with the first rounder Liam Öhgren, and Adam Beckman because he can score more than the 18 he potted in their Iowa farm. (They just recalled him.) (and there is Yurov…hmmm)
Las Vegas has no blooming farmhands, so it’s gotta be picks, picks, picks.
I am still bothered by Dallas ripping off the too little Caphawks in that lousy Patrick Sharp trade, I wouldn’t do them any favors either. I doubt they are offering Stankovan, and after him the talent dives and they don’t have the first rounder we want in the deal, and I feel they are starting to need a bump. Sorry but I need Wyatt Johnson and not Russian Denis Gurianov as the starting player.
In fact, I don’t add a Russian in trade until I know I am taking the first one in the fist round, and I will have time to find some helpful “culture adapters” before he gets here.
I think Kane decided before tonight's game and JD is on the phone tonight.

I think 19 just didn't want to see himself traded for a bag of pucks and $$ equal to half his salary...

Agreed.
Strome on a good team would be good for half a season but with his ethic, water will find its level. |

Had a dream (nightmare ?) tonight.
In it, KD said he likes this team and didn't make any trades this deadline. Lol. |

If I had to handicap it right now, I'd say there will be one D-man, and four forwards moved:
McCabe
Kane
Domi
Lafferty
D!ckinson
I don't think there is much if any interest in AA. There might be a slight chance that someone makes a desperate move for Murphy, bit I don't see it.
The "good" news about Toews not being traded is that KD knows he has an extra retained salary spot to use. |

I have to disagree Darth. I think Kane can return a 1st + in a trade. But the chance of him waiving is 50-50.

Wow, was great to see vintage Kane for a weekend.
Added second half of the weekend against the Leafs, just the topping on the cake.
I don't know obviously, but it looks to me, Kane doesn't want to be traded. Just the interviews he really seems fighting it.
I'd like him back, but wouldn't mind him getting traded, and re-signing in the summer. I wonder if he would also, but what's got him bummed out is he already knows KD won't resign him.
I want the picks and prospects that come with the trade, but if he doesn't want to be traded, I get hit. He is owed how he ends on his terms.
I don't know why Toews would want to play again if his stuff is everything he says it is.
It'll be really weird in a week and a half if there is never a Kane or Toews ever suiting up for the Hawks again, real weird. |

Bingo always says no one on the Hawks would help, and every year he is wrong.
They'll be out by the 2nd round again. 1 day you wake up, and you haven't won, and you missed your window because you didn't have the balls to make that trade you need to, to win it all.
Kind of like the best GM whom ever lived now in Detroit. and before you tell me he build Tampa, maybe, but they didn't win until he was gone, and his replacement had the balls to trade for what they were missing to win a championship. - vabeachbear
Always liked how he was lauded in these parts for signing players to team friendly deals on a team that, at the time, had won nothing.
Thought it was interesting this season that as Wings GM he decided they were in go for it mode and then who he signed and for how much to get them. |
