No question Barzal has things about his game he needs to clean up. Same with all the players. Maybe with Barzal out, it forces other players to have to step up? We have to see how this plays out. - ses111
I think one of the unfortunate byproducts of Barzals Globetrotter show in the o-zone is that our own players tend to stand and watch him, unsure of where to go or what to do. It's worked with Horvat because he has that sniper frame of mind and immediately finds a soft spot to shoot from.
I definitely liked a couple of the set plays last night on the pp, specifically the one that Palmieri missed the net |

While Barzal is out it’s going to be funny when we realize he was the problem all along. - Cptmjl
All jokes aside, this isn’t entirely inaccurate. While Barzal himself isn’t a problem, some of his on ice habits are quite problematic.
Perhaps a full season at RW will eliminate/mitigate some of his less desirable behaviours. |

It's nice to discuss a player without a huge insult happening. More will be expected of Barzal having Bo as a linemate. This is how it should be. Baral did not have the best talent before Bo. |

I think the initial reaction to what I’m saying is likely that I’m out of my mind. When you actually think about it is when you realize it’s possible.
He’s not an easy guy to play with. That’s been proven enough times already. |

Horvat was a great addition to a team that never replaced their 1C. I'd like to see the isles add to their backend in some fashion. It would be nice to see them have a norris candidate at some point. |

Bo was needed and hopefully it all works out. Dobosn possibly could be a future Norris candidate. Pulock has been a disappointment to me. Especially his offesive game. The defense as a whole has not been good this year.

Most players have trouble keeping up with his speed. Bo and his offesive talent should be a good match for Barzal. Lee and Nelson need to keep up their good play with Barzal out. |

Pulock and Pelech do not seem themselves this season. Look out of sync.

They've been terrible. Holmstrom got the blame for that first goal but both Pelech and Pulock committed to the same guy in front of the net leaving Guentzel alone |

You could compare it to players blocking for Barry Sanders. The guy was unquestionably thw most talented rb ever, but blocking for him was a nightmare since you just never knew where he was going to go next.
Like I said, I think sometimes he mesmerizes our players just as much as the opponents. |

I think we can safely say the entire defense has been an abortion. |

I play with a guy like this in men's league and you kind of stop skating when you don't know what he's doing. That said we always knew they isles needed a shooter with him and horvart is that player so I think they will be good together for a long time.
I can't believe you think barzal is the problem and should be traded

Wouldn’t shock me. As good as Barzal is with zone entries he is at times equally horrible once “set up”. He is perhaps the most guilty with slowing down in the offensive zone which plays into the PK’s hands imo. Let’s not forget his countless, unforced, turnovers on the PP. I like Barzal but I’m also objective enough to see his faults. Believe me I’m not saying we’ll be better without him. That’s a tough theory to hook the wagons too with our obvious lack of talent.
I am saying it will be interesting to see how the team responds to him being out. Maybe we’ll be better for it with having an understanding how to better utilize him. I’ll add Durandeau was impressive last night. - Cptmjl
Despite the consensus that or prospect pool is pretty shallow I have to say the rookies and call ups this season, particularly the forwards, have been pretty solid and haven't shat the bed. |
