I think they’ll end up with Bonino
- Slimtj100

That’s fine, but in the meantime what are we doing with this experiment. The guy clearly can’t play hockey in the NHL, 35 combined games this year with zero points.

Is he improving or is he just bouncing back to the form he had when he was 25?

Yeah, 'cause that's the problem
Stop worrying about the name on the back of the jersey. Vesey has looked like a top 6 player almost every game this year. He has been a relentless, in your face checker, solid defensively and shown really good hands and decision making in tight areas. Definitely not his natural fit, but he has certainly not been part of the problem.

- Tonybere

I get the love for Vesey, I think hes been wonderful, however, hes not really a top 6 player. To me hes a 3rd line guy that can fill gaps. However I think the more pressing need is 4C.

Heres why I like Bjugstad, he can play C or RW. Clearly with the increased minutes hes gotten in ARI, its reflected in his production. I say this because, there may come a time where maybe Vesey slows up. Bjugstad can fill in on the RW. I dont think Bjug is a top 6 guy either but its good to have versatility.

What about Lars Eller for 4c?🤔 Listening to a cap beat writer sounds like they may sell at the TDL. They probably should, without Carlson they’re fked. And he isn’t coming back for awhile yet (according to this dude)

Eller is 54% on faceoffs this year. It’s weird how this is the best year he’s ever had in that dept. I recall him being a Ranger killer of sorts over the years. He’d be a 50% retained guy.

He is at $3.5 million, so will be tight to fit him in without a third team

3rd team isn’t as difficult as people might think. If it’s a seller doing it you’ll get a free 4th rd pick, we’ll say, for between taking 1-3 million bucks. No brainer decision isn’t it? You have 3 spots to utilize may as well do it

Like if Eller cost us 3rd to get, and 4th to Vancouver for instance for 25%, maybe that’s better than a second for Bjugstad for example? (that sounds like what he’s going for). Doesn’t have to be for Eller just saying they could do the 3rd team thing with a better player than we expect. That’s my thinking anyway, and I’m also avoiding the plague that is Patty Kane

New Jersey has told San Jose they will beat any package anyone else puts out there for Meier.

Sounds like St. Louis and Carolina are going to test that theory and make New Jersey spend a fortune.

Canes have shifted focus, are quietly trying to pry Laine out of Columbus while everyone is looking elsewhere. Laine's NTC doesn't kick in until next season.

Apparently.

I'm not sure he wants to deal with Carolina again after Don (frank)ed him so bad on the Brent Burns deal, but Waddell is absolutely going to offer more than they want to give up just to see if Fitzgerald will put his money where his mouth is an wildly overpay for Meier.
