Oilers are not good 5 on 5. Skinner is a sub par goalie. - mickel25

Provorov was very good last night - mickel25
I didn't see the game but looking at the stats, he wasn't good. He played the majority of ice time against McDavid, Draisaitl and Nugent-Hopkins. You could say he survived by not allowing any 5 on 5 goals against but that's about it.

2-6 it is, perfect to not let CF think he is not a seller. Just need to get to 6-7th but have solid play from the core, it will take talent to thread the needle but they can do it |

I don’t know if it’s come up but I was never a Brandon Manning fan. However, not the game where he ended McDavid’s season but the next time they met. I guess it was reported that he told McDavid he did it on purpose. Obviously he didn’t if you watch the play but I can respect a player who is willing to do what it takes to get into the very best’s head and I think Manning did. |

They have shown they are not capable to thread that needle and do it.
This "core" group is noting special in any way. Look at the conf. Where do you see the Flyers competing and when? Cant wait to the overpay ivan tk and hart.

It’s true. Way too many what ifs in the Flyers “plan”, which is ultimately handled by an incompetent GM.
It’s pie in the sky thinking and fans shouldn’t get caught up in it. I understand wanting to have a positive attitude but this isn’t grounded in any kind of reality. |

Playing well is a 5 man game, they just don’t have the forwards to support the D vs better competition, numbers are great but context is more important |

They are, seems the draws that count they really struggle. If Brown can’t win D zone draws he is useless or don’t lose them clean |

Provy defended a lot and looked good defensively. Hopefully, they keep the pairing together and give him and Sanheim a chance to build some chemistry in their transition game. I thought maybe Sanheim should skate it up ice more, but Provy is capable also so they just need a playbook.

I guess it depends on your definition of playing quite well. What those numbers tell us is that when Provorov was on the ice at 5 on 5. Edmonton dominated play. That is not playing quite well in today's NHL |

That's how I've gotten... I am way less invested in this team now than I have ever been. Years ago I'd never miss a game. Now I follow them and read about them while I poop but outside of that... meh - Bob Habib
Flyers board used to get 70+ pages of posts on game day and now it's lucky if it gets that every 3 weeks.
A lot of people are way less invested but the people in charge don't care. Win or lose, it doesn't affect Fletcher's paycheck or Scott's paycheck. Fletcher's got so many titles for the Flyers that if he gave up the GM job he would just be pulling the same poop out of the limelight. He will be in Flyers management until he decides to retire.

Question for anyone who knows. So with Coots, Ellis and Cam on LTIR, I see Capfriendly only has the Flyers at about a little over a million in cap space. I thought LTIR allows them to circumvent some of the cap issues. I thought they’d have more space to perhaps even be that 3rd team who gets draft picks just for eating salary. What am I missing? Thanks. |

Comcast and the rest of Flyers management doesn’t seem to accept that anger is being overtaken by apathy. Remember these are the same morons who said the attendance was down due to Covid while the 6ers were selling out every game in the same city, same building. |

LTIR can only be used when replacing an injured player puts the team over the upper limit. You have to use your available cap space first. Ryan Ellis is the only player currently on LTIR for the Flyers. Couturier and Atkinson are on IR. If necessary and the Flyers add cap, those two players can be moved to LTIR to increase the working LTIR cap space available to the Flyers. |

I was not there but I watched the whole game. Provorov took on McDavid the whole game at 5 on 5. McDavid had one point at 5 on 5. That is a win in my opinion. |

Agreed. Provorov was really good H2H on McDavid last night. He handled McDavid's speed very well. The Flyers never have good possession numbers and I think most teams don't against McDavid. |
