I understand the thought Palms was tougher and a better fit for the playoffs. - ses111

After seeing the return for Jeannot, I REALLY hope Lou is shopping all pending UFA’s. Holy smokes 😳😳😳 |

I guess the hope was if he could make it to the playoff games, he would be a better fit than Eberle? |

Except Jeannot isn't a pending UFA and not every team is in full-bore go-for-it mode like Tampa is. I wouldn't expect to see too many other teams overpay like that. |

I'm not familiar with Jeannot but the returns seems very high.

Undrafted winger who’s uber physical. Popped off for 40 points last year, but is slumping hard this year. Has scored decently well everywhere he goes. |

This managerial strategy seems to have fallen flat for Lameriello in every sense.
Going to be funny if we actually do make the playoffs if we get our doors blown off. Hopefully then we can stop with the whole, “If we only make the playoffs.” BS |

Lou does like this grinding type player and team style. It's very risky in terms of injuries and players just breaking down.

Regardless of UFA or not, that’s a huge haul for that guy. Then I’ll rephrase and say, I REALLY hope Lou is shopping ALL players, regardless of UFA status. |

Yes, overpay for sure. But he's 25 and TB will have control of him for a few years. Different than coughing all that up for a rental.
Lou isn't trading anyone, like it or not. Regardless of what any fan thinks, management thinks the Isles are going to compete. They're not trading away defensemen and/or goalies for draft picks when management feels that way. |

No way Lou is selling and especially after yesterday's win. |

I agree. However they can only "compete" if they actually get IN the playoffs, which is very much in doubt. If nothing else, I'd like to see Lou upgrade the Aho spot to someone more stable at that d position.

Unfortunately I think all Lou is going to is bring in another character guy that is a bottom 6. Maybe a 3rd pairing D man.
Now if he can unload a certain underperforming, high IQ guy, I'll take it. |

I’ve said it a few times that I don’t believe Lou will move anyone either. But the reality is he should. Based on how teams are performing around us and with games in hand, it’s not likely we make the playoffs. I guess anything could happen, and I’d love for them to get in, but I’m not too confident. |
