Here's the thing. 57.2418% of Long Islanders are total chuds. That number ticks up to 82.2497% when you narrow the scope to only sports fans. Yes, there are plenty of Rangers fans from Long Island, but 100% of Islander fans are from Long Island. Therefore, you have an overwhelmingly chuddy fan base being squeezed into an arena. No amount of hundreds of millions of dollars spent on an arena can fix that. We as a society have to figure out what to do about this growing problem before it is too late. - picklerick
Those Islander fans also happen to be Mets fans.

Are they at least partially knowledgable about hockey? Drunk Tampa fans were always brutal. - Feds91Stammer
New York "Fans" in general like chiefs said are a crap shoot. Many people are at the games because it's something to do. |

There really are a lot of mutant Islander fans. I swear to god a guy passed me last night that looked like a walking (and not dead) Stephen Hawking - eichiefs9

I've seen some stuff. When the Isles played their first game back at the Coliseum, we were leaving and saw Sydney Esiason taking the escalator downstairs after the game (we were outside and saw her through the window) and some fat slob in a leather jacket and sweatpants was pounding on the glass like she was a zoo animal and screaming "SYDDDDNEEEEEYYYYYY, SYYYDDNNEEEYYYY" |

Pretty much.
Though I think at games most arenas are probably similar. I think even in Canada there are likely many dumb fans just there to do something fun. The price of admission almost assures you of that. |

I mean are we going with the mantra that the Garden is the epitome of class and Ranger fans are the creme de la creme? There’s a huge segment of mutant trash bags that are part of that fanbase that still don’t understand the concept of icing or offsides. |

So am I. It depends on the town. That's a like a Tuesday afternoon for Lindenhurst. Not so much for Head of the Harbor |

I may end up there eventually. Not sure I'm into being a visiting fan in that arena. Fighting with drunk subhumans isn't really my scene. - JRR1285
Then what the (frank) are you doing on here so much???

No of course not, there is an entire generation of Rangers fans that will simultaneously yell "POTVIN SUCKS" in your face while they wonder what Felix Potvin did to the Rangers |

I was raised in Syosset and now live in Commack. The surrounding towns out here are like a different planet than anything I was used to. Great people on both sides |

Seems to be about the least cost effective way to be a drunk moron though but I guess these aren't exactly sound thinkers. |

I am biased because I've lived in Suffolk my whole life, but I loathe Nassau County for the most part |

You're not wrong. But I think that UBS likely has a higher quantity of a different brand of mutant in attendance. |
