There's 2 houses in my neighborhood next to each other. One has the standard American flag above the garage door and the other has a 30 ft flag pole. I always wondered if the normal flag family resents the neighbors for showing them up or if they feel less patriotic

I don't hate it like some people do. It's certainly expensive and far from perfect, but I don't hate it.

When we bought our house we were semi-serious about looking elsewhere (her parents are in a suburb of Charlotte) but ultimately nothing materialized. She's a nurse manager here and does pretty well, but had we gone down south and she was a nurse there she would've taken something in the neighborhood of a $40k+ pay cut, so that factored into it, even with the obvious lower cost of living
