It’s simple…we can beat any team in the league, in a 7 game series, with Patrick Kane. At worst, it’s a helluva lot easier. Find a team that would have a better forward group 1-12. Not Boston, not the avalanche, not Toronto. I could go on and on
We ended up traded a first for Copp ffs, why should he be any different? |

We have VT already and Kane would be a luxury. His health to me is still a huge question mark and makes me wonder if he could withstand a grueling playoffs.
If he only wants to come here, why pay more?? Chicago is the one who loses a second round pick. Plus they traded Debrincat for nothing. |

Clarification please on This LTIR "loophole"....
If your roster is right at the cap, and you already have a guy making 10M AAV, and he goes on LTIR, you can add (replace) that 10M.
But if you are at the cap, and acquire a guy with a 10M AAV who is on LTIR, you can't add other guys and be 10M over the cap
Or am I completely wrong |

Maybe if they throw in Lafferty too. Give them a first and other pieces, salary dumps included (Kravtsov is all that is imo) |

Well I'm 3 for 3 with noticing bad players like Blais, Leschyshyn, and Harpur. I will go 4 for 4. |

reality is, Krav has no suitors. if he did, he'd have been gone. but he is likely and rightly considered a selfish headcase for how he has handled his development plan. lets also not forget that he only has SIX points this year. best thing for him would be a trade to chicago and get more ice time to prove himself. as for kane. send him to chicago, who holds 40% salary, then send to SJ which holds half salary and then to a team like nashville or vancouver to hold another half which gets to about 1.56. that ought to do it. throw in a 5th rounder over the next 2 years to salary cap eaters. but it can be done. |

And again, I will repeat, your view will not change. The view of others who want him will not change. Pretty much a stand off. |

The lineup with him is probably the best forward group they’ve ever had. Better than ‘94. It’s hard to compare eras, but our 4 lines would be ridiculous (assuming health obviously) |

Lot of misinformation here.
For starters, [a motivated] Kane is a significantly better asset than Tarasenko is. Kane's hip "injury" is much ado about nothing. It has "hampered" him for a couple seasons now, and this was just rubbish thrown out there to decrease his value. There have been questions about how hard he is playing because of how bad this team is - not because of his hip.
The Hawks have scored the fewest amount of goals in the NHL. The best player Kane has skated with this year is *checks notes* Max Domi. I'd say it's kind of difficult to put points up when you're skating with bottom-six forwards all season.
Putting 88 on a line with Panarin is the best thing the NYR could do for their offense. They were the best duo in the NHL when they were together. |
