i think you are seeing what you want to see. part of me thinks kane is dragging this on because he doesn't really want to get traded. allegedly the oilers have made a pitch. mcdavis and drysaddle are more attractive than uglyboy and breadman. especially since tarasenko and bread are butt buddies.

Heres the thing, atleast from what I saw, because the Rangers have no one using their LTIR space, Kanes’s cap AAV is prorated. So his actual cap hit with all the retention is like 750k.

and fwiw, davidson showed at the last TDL he will not trade a guy if he doesn't believe he is getting the value he wants. he let two rfa walk for nothing because he didn't get what he perceived their value to be. he sure as hell will let a UFa walk. cause if we are being serious, a late 1st round pick and a piece a poop prospect like those mentions will never be of equal value to kane as the player he is now.

it just makes it easier to sell to the fanbase and the people in above the GM.

I personally have no problem giving up a first. But they are going to need to help us out with dumps then. Just the optics tell me they want to do right by Kane. He isn’t the RFA you talk about, he won them 3 cups they could do him a solid for that. Any GM being stubborn like that isn’t smart. It’s only hurting the organization doing that
