Seems like a long shot with that tho. I think they get Kane, flip Mikkola and find another LHD cheaper. Do this only in a last resort situation where they HAVE TO do it
- Slimtj100

except they have pretty much said toews won't be traded due to his lingering issues

I meant Mikkola. Toews is a non factor in it

I wonder if they can get McCabe included and make this a true blockbuster!!

Well, a prime asset like McCabe is gonna cost ya. And not Cuylie. forget about any protections and you traded for garbage, you can deal with it in other trades.
now what are do you think the cost would be with retention on both players plus mcCabe's is for multiple years.

Perimeters for rangers to do any deal:

-Take as much “garbage” as possible because there is no other way. Make fun of it all you want but it’s a fact. They need these guys off the books

-Kane has already agreed to an extension. 3 x 3 (thereabouts) Again if they can’t work it out, he stays in Chicago.

And go from there.

If you don’t take Cuylle in a deal it’ll go nowhere if hes that’s much of an insult to you. I can guarantee this board will lose its poop if he was ina a trade, for Kane especially

Let me ask you this. Do you honestly believe he would sign for that? Or that Brisson would let him?
i have watch kane his whole career and he has a little jordan in him as far as looking for insults to work up some anger or whatever against the opposition. he is also intensely loyal to the hawk organization for many reasons. mainly that they have treated his family very well.

so given all that, i believe that kane would not accept any deal he felt the hawks or he weren't getting the value he believes he is worth.

i could be wrong for sure but i think i am closer to the reality of the situation being here as opposed to ny. just my take. nothing more nothing less

I think the lure of the NYR keeps it down. I could be wrong. But I truly believe he wants to be a Ranger more than anyone could imagine. He seemed genuinely broken-hearted when they got Tarasenko. It’s not unfathomable for guys to take less money. Look at Krecji and Bergeron. They took way less than they could’ve gotten.

NYC is powerful my man. He just made 80 million freakin dollars anyway. If he doesn’t agree than the deal will probably fall apart and we’ll all be pissed haha (well most of us)

Isn’t there something if we trade for Towes too, and utilize the the LITR? Idk I thought I heard that would help get Kane
- Slimtj100

I suggested that here on Monday on a previous blog. Not sure if it works this way. Chicago puts Toews on LTIR and trades his 10.5M contract to NY. Chicago trades Kanes half retained to you. Use half of Toews LTIR cap relief to pay for Kane. You still have 5.25M in relief and don't have to send any garbage back to Chicago to make the dollars work. You can add more depth with that 5M. Of course getting Kane and 5M in cap space is really going to cost you. Again not sure if this is how LTIR works.

not with escrow he didn't. its more of playing with panarin than the rangers. he already has played for an O6 franchise. one that has been relevant in this century and again has stood by him through everything.

both of those guys signed with organizations they played for their whole career. bergeron for sure took less but krejci wasn't even in the league last season.

I hate predicting things like that because no one knows what another person thinks.

But what I’m saying the only way the rangers do the trade is by keeping him for term and dollars that THEY are happy with. Meaning, it doesn’t cost them the 3 big RFAs in the summer. Kane can want the moon and the stars, but they simply can’t give him that. And if that’s what he wants, he isn’t getting traded to the NYR. And probably won’t get traded at all. In the end I think Kane will accept these perimeters because he wants to be a Ranger that bad, and it has alot to do with Panarin. Maybe they can squeeze it to 4 million per. But no way can it be anymore than that

I can’t wait much longer I’ve been cookoo for getting him. It definitely has subsided since Tarasenko as the need isn’t nearly as great anymore

That’s the other thing, Rangers don’t necessarily “need” him where they’re willing to trade a bunch of assets for him. He’s a total luxury at this point
Also, the Tarasenko return was much less than I think any of us thought, so Drury is smart. He isn’t going to get pushed around if you will. He blew the Buch trade and probably vowed to never do that again

Neither will Davidson. He will stick to his price. He has already shown he isn't afraid to walk away from pending FAs. It would a PR nightmare for Kd to just give Kane away for anything less than a 1st plus. Especially with retention

I don’t believe it. All we’ve heard for months is he’d be a Ranger. Recently he was upset that team got a different player, and now he’s atill pushing to come here. The one team that barely can fit him, he wants to come to.

This is all about Paranin. He wants to play with him and he can’t do that anywhere else.
