I’m just excited, nothing else worried about him sucking or what they’re giving up?

Well 2 things, Kane getting hurt after we get him and the disappointment if we dont win the Cup. This will be the strongest line up we will have to date and most likely in the near future. If they fall short I dont know what will happen. All the players on this roster will be a year older.

With less draft capital and a salary cap situation that is not the best.

I see only upside here.

Well getting him will certainly make the cup easier to attain than it would be without him. I think the hip is all conjecture. He supposedly has this issue for 3 years and it’s not something he hasn’t been able to deal with. I find hard to believe he’d risk anything for the last few years of his career as a pending UFA

So they get him…he plays the playoffs, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say they do well (because you know, positivity and all), he gets the surgery they’ve been saying. Rangers say ok get the surgery, but gives in to a team friendly contact because of it because you’ll be missing half the season? Idk. But my point is, that could be the key to keeping his price down for 3 year contract (really 2.5 years) And they’ll get 3 more cup runs from him, with Panarin. I’d think these kinds of things will be discussed by all the parties

The hip is something he can play with I think. And he can get it fixed in the off season

I gotta say Tom, with a healthy Kane and the Rangers playing better defensibly and Igor playing just a bit better, we would be the odds on favorite to go deep!!

I dont think we will be giving up much, Id say a second round pick to first if we win the Cup!!

Yea it’s probably a second, that turns into a first if they make the finals or something. Kravtsov and Jones in it also

This wont be the end of the world kind of trade

In case you haven't seen this. The trade may not go down for a few more days, maybe until the deadline.

Trading 2 first round picks in a draft class like this is very bad.

If they win the cup I don't think anyone will be thinking that. If they don't then yeah, blast it all you want.

It might not change into a first for this year, maybe it slides?

they should be giving up pennies

@vzmercogliano

- If anything has become clear in the last 24-48 hours, it's that Kane pushed HARD for #NYR. I firmly believe the Rangers hadn't planned for both him and Tarasenko. But belief is Kane's urging has dropped the trade price to a point where Rangers felt it was too good to pass up.

This reinforces my thinking about Mkikola where they may flip him, that’s 2 million bucks

I didn’t bold this
