TJ I know you have been following the Kane rumors for a while, but what makes you think it is going to cost that much? There have been multiple verified sources saying the package is going to be extremely favorable for the NYR. I don't think Jones goes. Kravstov and a lower end pick, maybe a third that can be a conditional. But that is it.

Chychrun hasn't played in 2 weeks now for Arizona.

How can the Commissioner NOT step in? I get the idea of not wanting a player to get hurt because you're going to trade him --- but this is BAD for hockey! We're not talking about sitting a 13th forward or a 7th defenseman here. Chychrun is a top pairing defenseman! I expect this will be something that gets changed in the off-season....

I understand what you're saying. However, just because Jones doesn't have a spot here right now, doesn't mean you throw him in for a rental who only wants to play in NYC. It's bad asset management. We can use Jones for better drafting in the upcoming draft and I think that would be a better use of him if NYR are set on moving him. Injuries also happen so I am not sure management is eager to jump the gun and send Jones in a package for Kane.

As for Kravstov...that's a bit harsh. I think this has been spoken enough, but it is time to move on. Didn't work for either parties. But that doesnt change the fact that he wil liekly be the main cog in this trade because we have CHI by the balls

But I think an aspect of this that is not getting enough attention is that Kane will not want to leave the Hawks franchise with them getting completely fleeced here. People have this view of him as a badass dude (which I'm sure is legit to an extent), but I'd imagine he's also fiercely loyal to the one and only franchise he's played for and won 3 cups with. He may not love how this has been handled and is ok now with moving on, but don't underestimate that he's not gonna want to be traded for nothing substantial in return. It'll have to be a middle ground for it to work for all 3 parties.

i would think the complete opposite; i highly doubt he gives a (frank) about the franchise's future really. it was a perfect for them for a long time they were a fantastic team/organization. it's time to move on and as vince wrote i dont think Chicago is going to hard ball here they're going to do right by a franchise icon.

I hear you. I think that if Jones is traded, it will be a draft day trade. But, time will tell. My guess is Kane for Kravstov + a third and then a fourth or a fifth to the brokering team. Per Vince an hour ago:
