EP is also only 7th in scoring, what a scrub to not be 1st in a league that has McDavid. EP is easily a top 10 Centre in the league. - Retinalz
He’s been collecting so many points and it’s not PP driven.
It’s great to see him improve so much in other areas. Though this is going to cost the Canucks a ton to resign him. Not sure if the bridge deal motivated him to do more. |

Everyone says the Canucks have no luck, well getting Pettersson at #5 was a complete stroke of luck!
I read this morning that in his last 82 games he’s scored 45 goals and has 102 points or something like that. - LeftCoaster
Maybe try to look at the big picture instead of one year?
Take out EP, QH when was the last time VAN selected a stud player with their own first round pick? |

Man, the Russell Wilson drama! It's pretty clear he's an entitled little movie star wannabe.
Happy they shipped him out of town. - VanHockeyGuy
So funny, what a goof. I'm thinking Payton will straighten him out a bit, but if starts the season off rocky.... juicy drama |

Why complete luck? They had targeted him. He wasn’t ranked higher. In fact it was controversial at the time to take him there and Canucks would have traded down to get him if it weren’t for the Rangers trading up to get Petey. |

Horvat 2013, Jury is still out on Podk (give another season or 2), Boeser started out as a stud player but had a few injuries. Before that Luc Bourdon(RIP) was looking like a stud pick, Schneider the year before. Realistically from 05-13 we had terrible drafting, and several good picks from 13-current, but still not good enough overall. |

He's a 34 year old undersized QB with a huge ego. He won't return to the glory years from a decade ago. Payton will have to tailor an offence to suit his declining skillset. As a Seahawks fan I'm elated he's become Denver's problem. Don't think the drama won't stop.

"Their own pick". Horvat was NYI's via trade.
Bourdon 2005 (incomplete), with Cory Schneider we're back to 2004,
19 frigging years ago.
Add never winning 1st overall in 53 years and things become quite clear. |

And we never will
EDIT: Ya, Canucks have one of the worst drafting records in history, and yet we employ much of the same scouts... |

As much as I'd love to see Bedard a Canuck, I'm resigned to the fact it's not in the cards. I'll consider not dropping down in the draft lottery a victory. It's just the way this team rolls. |

Well, that Pettersson kid is something else isn’t he! You build around a kid like that, screw you Reuby & Donna. - LeftCoaster

Rangers traded up, but still. - Retinalz
Oh my bad get those NY teams mixed up. Yeah they drafted his WJC teammate Lias Anderson as consolation. That didn’t work out. Could you imagine if Canucks bumbled that one. But then those Rangers win 1OA and 2OA after that so it worked out for them I guess.
But those picks haven’t moved the needle for them. Goes to show you drafting is tricky and not the only factor to improve. |

If you watch some old Seahawks highlights from their SB era, you see how much quicker and more agile he was. He's definitely declined. But yes, much the same – happy they got out from him AND got a boatload of picks Looking forward to the draft, hopefully some QB-needy teams trade up and the Seahawks can snag someone falling |

Fact no but odds against yes. If ever it was time for the Canucks to beat the odds it’s now. Everything has gone wrong and only mistakes pile up. Bedard scenario set for reversal of fortune. |

Getting Bedard would instantly shift the direction the franchise is heading to a massive degree. With him, Pettersson, and Hughes you're looking at a potential Crosby/Malkin/Letang situation. |
