A good 4th line center. - tomburton99
Bjugstad makes 900K a year. Trade Kravtsov for a pick and plug Bjugstad in on the 4th line. Done.
Cheap easy depth upgrade that tightens up the roster for basically zero cap impact. |

lol okay fair. I just think adding Patrick Kane doesn't really help anything as much as it makes the already questionable backchecking game by the forwards even worse.
There's room for a guy like that if the other forwards can insulate him and cover for the MASSIVE liability he is defensively, but I don't know that you guys have that. - BINGO!

Theoretically we should have that. Mika is a perennial Selke candidate snub and Trochek, Vesey, Goodrow, Kakko, Kreider (when his head isnt up his ass), and Motte are no slouches. Our D core are more than capable (when their heads aren't up their asses). It's the consistency that's an issue and no trade for a good defensive 4th line center will fix that, even though I still think that's the right move. Everyone knows who I give some blame to for those consistency issues.
Kane is one of those late 90's/early 2000's Sather moves except he is better than most of the guys they mortgaged the future for back then. (frank) it. Bring him in and see what happens. I don't like the guy but that's not going to change the outcome. |

Weve all been on the Bjugstad or Lafferty bandwagon for few weeks, however seems they want a bigger fish.
The issue here is ok cool, Bjugstad… but you still have Vesey playing top 6 minutes which I think is meh. I like the guy but thats not a spot for him. |

I agree. This isn't like bringing in crippled Bure to an incredibly flawed team or throwing all their picks away for a few washed players. Kane still has it. Whether he is the answer or not, who the (frank) knows. |

He's not, though.
Not anymore. He's always been extreme offense/no defense but it's even worse now.
also if Kane and Motte are anywhere near the ice at the same time you've got a huge problem. |

If the Rangers trade any one of a 1st, Othmann or Cuylle in a package for Kane, I will be immensely pissed. - aecliptic
I don’t see how it would be more than Tarasenko. Chicago has much less leverage on this one |

Sure, what the hell do i know? But i feel like management should be more attuned to the answer to that question. There's no way anyone looks at what we've got going on and thinks that an elite scorer who is a black hole defensively (putting injury concerns aside) is the biggest need right now. This is purely a case of tunnel vision and management seems to be acting more like the fans than actual management. It's a (frank)ing circus right now. Grow up Drury et al.
Again, sure whatever go for it I guess. The train has already left the station on Kane. So we all gotta pray the showtime factor outweighs our clear deficiencies/inconsistencies by a substantial margin. The idea that somehow the defensive lapses and structural issues magically fix themselves is more far fetched. |

Play Kravtsov there and just dump Jake then.
Panarin - Mika - Tarasenko
Kreider - Trocheck - Kravtsov
Laf - Chytil - Kakko
Motte/Vesey - Bjugstad - Goodrow
doesn't look as sexy but it's more solid than subtracting further to add Kane in there.

We've had this conversation before. They don't want to hear, Kravtsov doesn't want to be here, GG won't do it. All very bad. |

This has been my talking point for a while about Vesey on the top line. Look again, at our first shot on goal yesterday. Problem is, I don't think Kravtsov has done much of anything to warrant being on the top two lines.
However, if they don't get Kane... your above line combinations are better than we have now thats for sure. |

I would prefer Kravtsov stay. Does that mean they're going to do it? Not at all. It looks like his time here is done. There is nothing else to it. Better just embrace this disaster and see where it goes. |

As if one has no connection to the other. Not to mention Kravtsov doesn't seem to be behaving like he doesn't want an opportunity, at least this season. Nuanced take as always my friend. |

In the 56 games before Pavel Bure became a Ranger he had 49 points and was a -14
in 54 games this year Patrick Kane has 45 points and is a -23.
10 of his points have come in the last 4 games. |

My biggest fear with a trade for Kane is it turning out like it did for BOS when they got Nash. Aging veteran, 34+ years old with an injury history, BOS got bounced pretty early from the playoffs if I remember correctly and we ended up with:
Spooner (flipped for Strome)
Lindgren
1st (turned into Miller) |

The team that Bure joined was objectively bad. He was also completely shot. It was amazing what he did with his body in that state.
This team is far and away better than the team Bure was on.
Again, not saying this is the right move. But I don't think they get substantially worse because of it. |

He's a 4th line pk/defensive specialist who plays like 9 minutes a game. We could do far worse. What he has to do with Kane I have no idea |

Bingo is stuck on the potential of them both playing together to cover Kane's lapses. I doubt that would happen and if it did I agree, they would be in bad shape. |

Wasn't a total shot at GG. Both are at fault. Kravtsov wants out that's reported. GG won't do it. That's also true. |
