How about the 2 for 1 Options
SJ: Timo Reimer
Nashville: Saros Ekholm
Arizona: Chychrun Vejmelki
Could actually have some real action nice 3 way with every team. Add Benning SJ or Jeannot Nashville or Crouse Arizona.
Additions that all could help make this team better.

Oh yea Wilson is a 1st and a grade A prospect.
Only thing is no salary retention would be required on Buffalos end. - ImThatGuy
Is Kasperi Kapanen considered a grade A prospect still?
|
|
|
|
When did he say that? - ImThatGuy
Go over to HFBoards and go to sabres where it says roster thread, somewhere around page 268-269 there is a quote about Adams saying he is not going to sacrifice the future by trading away pics or prospects.
So if you think 1st round picks or any A prospect is up for trade their aren't, they aren't going to pay Meier or Chyrchrun so what will you get at the deadline?

TORONTO/NEW YORK (Feb. 24, 2023) The National Hockey League Players’ Association and National Hockey League announced today that goaltender Spencer Knight of the Florida Panthers will be unavailable to his Club for an indefinite period while he receives care from the player assistance program of the NHL and NHLPA.
Under the terms of the joint program, Knight will continue to be paid while receiving treatment. He will return to the Club when cleared for on-ice competition by the program administrators. |

he's had an incredibly shaky season and this kinda explains why

So how do you make big moves without trading away picks or prospects?
to get Meier or Chychrun its gonna cost 1st and at least an A prospect and B Prospect.
Explain how you think big moves are on the table without trading picks or prospects?
With the trade deadline just a few weeks away, Adams’ attention is pulled from the ice more often as phone calls become a regular part of his day. That was the case on Tuesday as the Sabres practiced in El Segundo, Calif. ahead of their Tuesday game against the Anaheim Ducks. Adams’ public messages have been consistent. He’s not going to hit fast-forward on the rebuild and compromise the future for the present. |

these are two very different concepts.
adams has said maybe 30 times in total that he will make moves that make sense for the present and future.
he never once said "i won't make big moves"

So you need those exact words to come out of his mouth to understand he wont trade Kulich, Savioe, Rosen or Ostlund and he wont trade away the 1st and maybe not second round picks.
But some how another team will trade away their big player without including any of them? Sure, keep your dream alive. |

i feel like you're not grasping the concepts here.
Kevo Will:
Use futures to acquire a player for the present AND future
Kevo Won't:
Use futures on a rental or high priced old veteran

Go ahead make your proposal for Ekholm, Saros, Chychrun or Meier.
Lets see what you think it means. |

Saros and Ekholm have 2 and 3 years left. Saros could be re-signed or traded if Levi breaks out. Ekholm, they'd have for 3 more seasons.
Chychrun, while it would be nice, has been interesting to consider. In two years you need to pay him well north of what he's worth and the cost is high. I'd be wary of him.
Timo, who you're never trading for without negotiating an extension, absolutely fits the present and future and fits the age group of this team. He may be too expensive for Kevo considering the needs here, but that is the type of guy that I think he would move futures for.
So, in summary:
He will not buy rentals.
He will buy mid 20s guys with term or RFA. |

Ok so make your proposals that don't sacrifice the future that those teams would accept.
Can you do that?
Buffalo isn't going to pay Meier 9m so that one is already shot down yet I am the one who is out of touch. |
