Saros and Ekholm have 2 and 3 years left. Saros could be re-signed or traded if Levi breaks out. Ekholm, they'd have for 3 more seasons.
Chychrun, while it would be nice, has been interesting to consider. In two years you need to pay him well north of what he's worth and the cost is high. I'd be wary of him.
Timo, who you're never trading for without negotiating an extension, absolutely fits the present and future and fits the age group of this team. He may be too expensive for Kevo considering the needs here, but that is the type of guy that I think he would move futures for.
So, in summary:
He will not buy rentals.
He will buy mid 20s guys with term or RFA. - TheSabresTaco
Adams - Hi Armstrong what do you want for Chychrun?

Ok so make your proposals that don't sacrifice the future that those teams would accept.
Can you do that?
Buffalo isn't going to pay Meier 9m so that one is already shot down yet I am the one who is out of touch. - sabresfan69
guy. for the third time.
He will use futures... to acquire assets... that will be useful to this team.. for now... AND in the future.

So you are refusing to use any actual names or assests because it will make you look foolish.
Lets move on. |

So you need those exact words to come out of his mouth to understand he wont trade Kulich, Savioe, Rosen or Ostlund and he wont trade away the 1st and maybe not second round picks.
But some how another team will trade away their big player without including any of them? Sure, keep your dream alive. - sabresfan69
I agree that a trade for a big name is unlikely, BUT, do you really think he'd come out and say "look for a big trade," or "we're in on all names," if he was looking to trade for a Meier or Chychrun type? GMKA tells us what he wants to tell us, which is close to nothing. |

Orlov and Hathaway went for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
I got a feeling some of these teams doubling up on 1st round picks are going to offer
2 1sts and an A prospect for Chychrun.
Team like Washington or Montreal. |

I think after Orlov and Hathaway went for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd there is no way Adams is paying those types of prices that Meier and Chychrun will be asking.
I could see someone like Leddy or Gudas getting traded to the sabres. |

agree - a solid 5/6 RHD would be great. Would also love a goalie with an expiring contract though I hnk this is unlikely. |

Why would they acquire him they're done for.... for like the next 5 years

St. Louis for Meier... - kingcong39
Exactly, some of these teams only need to retool and don't need a complete rebuild.
I think Washington goes after one of the big names. They could basically flip the 1st, 2nd and 3rd with an A prospect and they just replaced Orlov for Chychrun. |

Ekholm (rumored to be available), and Saro (whispers of "possibly being available) would cost the Sabres something like this:
2023 1st
2023 2nd
2024 1st
Top prospect, like Peterka, Ohlund .....
UPL
Adams won't do this

I am ok with Buffalo getting a 4/5/6 defender I don't think they need to make a big splash.
Getting Bryson and Clague out of the lineup will go a long way. |

Washington only has a few years left of Ovechkin.
I would be shocked if they don't go after Meier or Chuchryn. |

From what I’ve been told. Adams has his hand in the cookie jar with pretty much every big name player or decent player |

Bryson or Clague is good for a goal against a game although sometimes Clague can make it through a game without blowing his duties. |
