I like what KA is doing with levi/ upl and Anderson this year. If levi is a true difference maker, I wouldnt block him. Ride this year out and see if upl has any value to this franchise.

This offseason depending on how the chips fall, I would consider gibson.
He's kinda a lot like vaslevsky, well it's been stated anyways.

The goaltending is an issue but imo it's not THE issue. Yes, an elite goalie would be awesome and would be better than any of the 3 we have and it would be incredible to have that. But we don't have that and most teams don't. The defense, and not just the bottom half, has been not great. Team defense is not great.

It's very easy to look at the goalie and say "he's the issue, get rid of him and bring in goalie x and we'll be better" but then you get goalie x and surprise, he's not all that better. Teams like Boston go and get Linus Ullmark and play defense in front of him and all of a sudden he's a Vezina candidate.

If there's a chance to upgrade in goal they should absolutely do it. But I'm not going to rip the goalies especially in games where the entire team sucks, a la Toronto, Carolina.

I personally don't like holding the door for Levi, if you're good enough you open the door yourself. That said, since he's a college boy we have to bend for him a bit. It is what it is, unfortunate quirk of the NCAA/NHL setup.

All that said, I think once he signs and loses some of that leverage we go for a guy in the off-season. Levi likely goes to the AHL at least part of the year next year and UPL/Comrie are both free agents after next season. You could ride both of them next year but I think Adams makes that move to bring someone else in instead

The only thing we know about Levi is he dominates college kids. We knew that last year, did we not? I guess we also know he doesn't have the heart of Pat Roy, but then again who does? I'm sure Northeaster University is a life changing experience and all, but I'll never pretend I respect someone who ducks competition in the name of development.

Don't think Levi ducked anything. His Freshman year was thrown out of wack because of Broken Ribs and Covid. Nothing wrong with his decision. Portillo on the other Hand!!
