Savoie is being compared to Brayden Point or Briere. Imagine having either of them.

He has more pts and a better +/- on a worse team than Ekholm.

Costs far less in cap and to acquire.

I just want a Schenn type. A bottom pairing vet D that can move up and down the lineup if needed.

Schenn would be a perfect, how about this trade.

Portillo, Johnson (assuming he tells mgnt he is not signing in bflo) and a second for Schenn and Demko.

Van gets a great goalie porspect and cap space, we get a solid D-man and a starting goalie and we really aint giving up that much...

This is why I said a Schenn type. I never suggested Schenn should be the target.

I do see though that 1 of those players is a +9 and the other is -2. The +9 being on the far worse team. Not sure how fancy stats tell that story.

Ekholm is a Dinosaur and would not be good for us.

All three prospects Savioe, Kulich and Ostlund are all starting to hit the top side of their development curve.

Mitts has to work through a hit with the puck to chip it up the boards to Krebs who takes a solid hit from Kuch in order to get Quinn the puck. Quinn does his part with a beautiful finish. Well that's what he does, he pushes Joker down to 3rd pair with Lyubushkin and your 3LD is taken care of
