You know who I would love to get as a depth player next season? JT Compher. Call it an infatuation with the what could have been, but he's 27, has 40 points this year, 3.5 million in salary, plays a good game. UFA after this season. Him on our 3rd would look very nice.

Chicago is going all out...just not in the right direction and frankly a guy like OLO would be perfect. Can score but has a terrible defensive game. Basically a good fit for a team that is looking to tank here shortly. Just a thought...

Why do you think we've kept him so long

Isn't he Chicago's leading goal scorer? I'm not going to lie I don't know much about him in the context of this season, but from what I remember he plays hard and is scoring on a terrible team. If he could do that here I would be happy. I wouldn't expect Olofsson to get much interest from Chicago however, he's a piece you send to a team in the west who is going all out.

The black hole thing was a defensive jab. He's career awful at it. If you think Olofsson is bad, just wait till you see Domi. Yes, he is doing pretty well on the score sheet though.

His role would be a lot different here. Don't think you'd get that kind of scoring.

I think we are already past adding depth players. Hinestroza was buried in Rochester and he is a completely solid depth player. It's only getting more crowded when Ostlund, Rosen, Kulich, Savoie et all start arriving. You only have 20-25 guys. I could see good players like Jost and Mittelstadt becoming numbers casualties in the next 1-2 years

At this point this team should be looking for difference makers, which is a wonderful place to be.

Very true. I am not a huge fan of going out and grabbing guys with what they seem to be trying to build here. A locker room full of guys who believe in the process and each other. I'd want to make sure whoever they get has the same attitude and can fit in well enough. Frankly, maybe leave well enough alone, continue to take our lumps and move forward with what we have but I still think grabbing a solid vet D man for the 2nd pairing is a must. Beyond that, see what happens and address in the off season.
