Dahlin is $12 million per year on the open market. Everyone in the league knows how good he is. He's a large Adam Fox with a mean streak. Fox already has a (deserved) Norris for a season not as good as Dahlin's current season.

Is there anything stopping a team from offering a guy an insane one year deal with a handshake deal that they sign long term after at a discount. Thinking pasta here next year at like 15ish and then try to get him around 5x$8.

Grass is always greener. .913 Save Percentage this year on a terrible CBJ team is not bad. Has done highs of .920 in 31 games in 15-16, lows of .877 last year in 22 games. Without looking into the advanced stats I can see that he could be looked at as a guy to compete with Comrie and UPL and if he turns out, cool. If not, you hope Levi does. I wouldn't give up much for him, but I am willing to take another chance on a guy. 7 years younger than Talbot.
