Idk if substances are involved, but the kid is battling depression or something else he needs help with. Been called the “franchise goalie” since they drafted him. Made a spectacular debut. Fans yelling out Knight during the anthem. Then some struggles last season, and bounced back after some games in AHL. This year kinda had expectations on him (from many) to unseat Bob from the starting role. Big struggles, ends up sitting around watching for the first time in his life. Then an injury and more struggles after coming back from that. A fan in Nashville (the last game Knight started, and got shelled badly) posted a video of him during pregame warmups. He was in the corner with a pile of pucks around him, looked like he was practicing putting. Something’s going on there beyond being a coke head or an alcoholic.

Remember when we traded kevin haller for Petr svoboda with Montreal at the deadline.

I see what you're saying , but there's some uniqueness to this situation with having 3 goalies and wanting a better one.

Makes sense to send Comrie for korpisalo, unless we still send upl down. Which makes zero sense.

Gives us an upgrade at goalie, and a guy that doesn't block levi as a ufa.
Also introduces korpisalo to buffalo, where he may stay as a free agent.

And he’s beloved in the Sabres lockerroom. If he asked to be traded to finish off his career in front of his family, then I could see it happening, but I would think he’d want to stay in Buffalo and try and help see the process through - playoff appearance.

Andy has done enough and they were ready to move him to the panthers last year if they had interest.

Took way too long to move on from Bryson + Fitz, will never understand their confidence in those 2. Clague was just a depth guy slightly better than them, not a solution.
