NJ with a huge move. Cant wait to hear the resident expert say how it was too soon and they should hold on their picks/prospects as they are not true contenders. - hello it's me 2050

Somebody should tell Chuck that sellers are supposed to actually get assets for what they trade at the deadline...

Why do comments like that make me laugh out loud??!!
I must be demented!!
In all seriousness though, what necessitated this move?? Give away a player for nothing??
Nothing this GM does makes any sense. |

Did anyone see the trade TB made? They traded Cal Foote and a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th round pick to Nashville for Tanner Jeannot. - MJL
Imagine how Tampa's scouts feel lol. Worked all year, traveling around, compiling reports, spent hours in meetings, excited about one of the deeper drafts in recent memory... and then you see your GM trade all the picks for a bottom-six undrafted 26-yo.

On another note, I was just watching a clip from a recent fight between Mc Dermont of the avs and Lucic from the flames. The linesmen had them tied up, and for some reason, let them have at it. The crowd went wild!!
When fans go that crazy for something…..unscripted fighting……why try to eliminate it from the game? That instigator penalty is the dumbest rule to ever exist in the NHL!!
Remember the line brawls between two division rivals?? Man, those were the days I’d give up going out, to stay home for a rivalry game.
Today, it’s the Ice Capades!!
More sad evolution of a spectacular game…. |

Not even a measly 2026 7th rounder for our now completely wasted 2nd round pick. I wonder what the excuse for this one will be... |

This is very predictable.
Like I said years and years ago would not win with g/Jake combo…
Would not win with coots…
Giving horrendous extension to turning 30 year old coots to be focal point was death kneel…
Making moves to justify false king….
Risto….
Trading picks and adding sub par pieces(Ellis)
This team is archaic by epic means….
Hiring torts so laughable….
They will never get it…..
They should be hung as an organization… to the gallows with all of them…
Shame
Shame

No. The fans are the ones eating lead painted legos. Like I said many times with a city /fan base as large as Philly they have an almost endless pile to draw upon. Keep rolling out excuses and promos and they find another sucker. They are used car salesman of epic ability. Eventually hopefully that well will dry up enough for the whole organization to collapse then maybe a rebirth can happen
At this point (frank) it if it’s in Philly or not. They sold out their fans already.
As far as I am concerned they died when Ed did. |

Someone told Tampa they couldnt do a Chuck Fletcher type deal. Tampa obliged. What a ridiculous haul for Jeannott. I get that Tampa still thinks its windows is open and maybe it is, but wow. |

Yeah that one is a head scratcher. At least the scouts will get glad again when they polish their 2 Stanley Cup rings later on. |

Everyone should pay attention to the Devils because this is how you build a modern day contending NHL team. You bottom out for a few seasons in order to pick number 1 or 2 in multiple drafts, you make shrewd free agent signings and execute strong cap management so you can pull a deal for a 40 goal winger like Timo Meier. You look at the Devils cap situation, they have the bulk of their money tied to a strong core of top-end talent both up front and on defense, and those players are in their prime or coming into their prime. Hey Fletcher, that's how its done! |
