Rangers are 4 and 4 since "savior" 1 (tarasenko arrived) and have lost 4 strt. Now "savior" 2 (Kane will arrive)
Kane had all the leverage and he used it...putting both organizations in a tough spot. So be it...he earned it and the hawks gave him that power. The return to Chc will be under whelming.
I have watched just about every game since he and Toews arrived 16 years ago. Kane is a superbly gifted athlete and winner. The show he put on the last 4 games was quite amazing. He is CHC legend and will eventually become the highest scoring american born player if he wants to play another 3-4 years. I doubt it will be in NYC
He has pined about playing with Panerin for the last 5 years. They were magic with each other but those teams 2015 - 2017 were regular season good but a first round knockout. Kane/Panerin did nothing during those playoff tilts. Now the rangers have big time scoring power...well...that will not be enough to get it done in the tough east. They may not get past the devils and canes.
The three of them are not 200 foot players.
It should be entertaining during the rest of regular season but look out rangers a first round blow out lurks and then what.
No cap space for the rest of the season and no way they are able to keep both "saviors."
Best to the rangers and PK #88. Maybe he comes back to the Hawks as UFA to chase franchise records but maybe the hawks have definatively moved on.
Personally would have loved to have him stay...players like him should only wear one jersey but....oh well. - bogiedoc
1ST dont think anyone looked at Tarasenko like any savior just a solid 2nd line RW
2ND They won their first 4 games with Tarasenko and lost their last 4. Neither 4 game streak is relevant they are locked in to playing NJ in round 1. Main thing now is for Tarasenko and Kane get comfortable. Adding these 2 is all about playoffs.
You are correct Kane put both franchises in tough spot as Rangers were not looking to get him after Tarasenko and would only do it if price was cheap. Agree players like him should only wear 1 jersey felt same way about Lundqvist. I bet he resigns with Hawks after the season unless he loves playing with Panarin so much he gives Rangers a huge contract break like 3yr at 3M per |

Yes...I was being somewhat sarcastic with "savior" term. I don't think the rangers need kane nor did they necessarily "want" him after the tarasenko deal. Did they actually pursue Kane prior to tarsenko? Not sure! If they did was Kane dithering? Its only two weeks ago. Kane was not playing great with a lousy team and hip injury talk was all the rage...funny how all that changed in the last 10 days.

Most Ranger fans, myself included, did not want Kane as the thought of giving up a 1st..top prospect and another draft pick or 2 was something that would affect the future and risky with his hip. But getting Kane without giving up a 1st or Othmann or Cuylle is something all Ranger fans are in on. Very little risk with tremendous upside. Jury is still out till final package is announced |

I suspect conditional picks depending how far the rangers go in the playoffs.
After his romp with the rangers...he may head home to Buffalo as a UFA. Still some hurdles to make this work. Need a 3rd team help finance 25% of this deal. And davidson and the hawks could say NO to the deal based on low ball offer. Thatsa low probability at this point but he should not just give Kane away.
The playoffs in the east are going to be brutal. At least 5 teams are cup worth cup contenders. First round losers will include 2 of these four teams: rangers, devils, bolts, leafs. As they go head to head.

EDM has all world MCD and Drais...but once again that aint going to be enough. This team has defensive issues and goalie problems again. Every game highlight real goals not enough for this team to advance through the playoffs. Yes they came back 4 zip but you don't win in the playoffs having to score 3-4-5 gaols to win.
And the NHL is weird. Hawks just won 3 in arow from 3 of the top teams in the league: knights, leafs and stars as kane showed put on show.

Everyone is saying the Blackhawks don't have leverage and won't get anything for Kane. Why not create leverage? Offer Kane a 4 year $9M extension for $36M right now. Kane doesn't want to leave Chicago. That automatically gives the Hawks leverage. The Rangers know he loves Chicago. The Rangers have lost 3 in a row in ugly fashion and just lost one of their top D-Men. Imagine the New York media getting a report that Chicago decided to keep Kane due to the Rangers low ball offer. It's a terrible look for look for them. The Rangers think they are getting him no matter what. Tell Kane to have surgery and get his hip fixed so you can lose a ton the rest of the year. Finish at the bottom for your best shot at the #1 pick. You sell some extra jersey's and give people and Chicago a reason to buy a ticket the next 4 years. You know Kane isn't getting that kind of contract offer from anybody else but it OK for the Hawks to overpay b/c it helps them get the the salary cap floor. Have him set every Hawks record known to man and give the young guys a player to look up to. He can wear 1 jersey the rest of his life. At least that's the story you tell the Rangers and even if Kane take the contract extension its good for the Hawks regardless simply as leverage. |

You are missing the point..leverage doesnt mean anything here. Rangers have a price, a low one I am sure, that they will pay for Kane. if that isnt good enough they will move on. and get a 4C and 3rd pair D man...they are only entertaining the Kane trade due to the low price not because they are in such need of getting him. |

Don't believe anything you read here, why would the Blues trade Pavel Buchnevich when he does not even list Ivan Barbashev who is a UFA and a great two way player. I don't know what your drinking Eck, but I know it's not boos, maybe monkey piss that has you brain cloudy! |
