I’ve been refreshing twitter non stop for like 48 hours trying to find out what Rangers gave up for him. So no, not yet.

The difference those players were strategically acquired to fill needs on the 94 team. Adding VT and Kane feels like Sather all over again.

Wasn’t the Rangers problem last year against Tampa that the offense dried up?

Exactly. That’s why the Rangers are going to play today with 11 forwards and 6 defensemen.
- jimbro83

Can we pull a tampa and put Lindgren on IR till the playoffs and still add another d man? Or not enough space for that

The only part of the equation that could have ended the trade is Chicago. Am I right about that?
- Cptmjl

No Kane and Rangers could have ended it at any time also

Which sather trades do they remind you of though. Ultimately we are looking at the 30th overall pick and Hunter skinner for tarasenko
- jimbro83[/quote

I understand what the trade was but I feel like they aren’t analyzing what is needed from top to bottom but doing a 180 after getting VT because the shiny new toy in Kane might be available. I would rather have taken either player and fill other holes.

Wonder where we would be if Kane never expressed his disappointment

So Kane and Lafferty can't join Rangers till after 3/1?

If the Rangers don’t put Lindgren on LTIR, they definitely can’t add Kane until 3/1 as it stands now.

Dreger saying that Vegas getting Barbashev doesn't mean they're out on Meier, so that's nice

I haven't caught any updates since late afternoon Thursday per the following listed expected buyers only, with their then available amount of LTIR cap space to additionally use to complete trades.
(No word of Ryan Lindgren put on LTIR as of 12:30 pm Sunday.)

*(Denotes teams as of late afternoon Thursday who had a player(s) they expect to activate before March 3rd's deadline time.)

Carolina - $10.1M in LTIR cap space
Vegas - $8.8M LTIR
Colorado - $8M LTIR
*Toronto - $4.5M LTIR
*Florida - $4.1M LTIR
New Jersey - $2.1M LTIR
*Pittsburgh - $1.2M LTIR
Boston - $1M LTIR
Tampa - $700K LTIR
Edmonton - $600K LTIR

Zach Dean the return for Stl. Solid add for them and good move by Vegas to get Barbashev. No reports of salary being retained by the Blues.

Ya basically a 1st, but rather than trade this years 1st they gave up a former 1st round pick. On top of not wanting him, if we give up a 1st for Kane and go from having 2 1sts to none this year, I really won’t be happy about Drury’s asset management

I predict it will be a 2nd round pick that upgrades to a protected 2024 first if Kane re-signs with Rangers

If he produces and resigns I could deal with that price
