I could see Van wanting him a lot – would probably retain on the Kane trade and send a pick or player over? Apparently if they wanted Hoglander at some point.. Kane retention, Hoglander, 3rd for Schneider? Kane retention, Hoglander plus Schenn for Schneider?

Is Schneider really that good?I havn’t really watched him but I see his name here quite often.

Yes. He’s a top 4, 2-way RHD that plays physical. He’s only 21 and has a high high ceiling.
If he develops into what he’s projected to be he would be a great top pairing fit along side Hughes… and I think that’s why our fanbase raves about him.
Remember when Tampa did this last year too? Just prior to trade deadline they acquired Hagel for two 1sts, which created a sellers market and made it very hard for their competitors to get better.
It’s actually a sneakily good GM move… but Brisebois was a little late this year as half a dozen teams beat him into making a big move. Hopefully this sets up a team or two into being desperate and maybe setting up an overpay on Schenn/Boeser/Garland… if any of them are still wanted.
I feel like Pittsburgh might make a desperation move to stay relevant.
Hurricanes are another team that might be forced to do something thanks to that conference’s contenders getting stronger.

Good point.
That's another team that needs to add to the arms race in the east.
