Another winger? Trade down instead but stay in the top 8-10. - Nighthawk
How many 80 point wingers do we have? Yes another winger, we need elite skill to compete. Mackinnon has Rantanen, Berg has marchand, stamkos has kuch see the pattern? We dont have an elite forward outside of EP. |

You're optimistic that they aren't going to go on a 10 game heater to finish the season and pick 12 to 14? - Pres.cup
No I’m pessimistic they’ll tread water & pick 8th or better. |

The math isn’t exact. Guaranteed contracts hinder prospects opportunity. Tunnel vision & bias further hinder opportunity whereas prospects will get pigeon holed & buried in the minors through their prime years. Not all teams develop well. Retreading vets in the bottom 6 on the cheap further exacerbates opportunity. - Nighthawk
Well exactly. Canucks are actually horrible at developing if it’s not a goalie. That’s why I’m not against Canucks drafting bpa 100% of the time. Because if they draft for a need usually there’s development required, which sadly this organization isn’t capable of. |

This cannot be further from the truth. Keep the biscuit outta the basket. |

Yes it’s strange we picked a winger. I cannot see the reasoning behind it either. BPA? Not my fave drafting strat that so many like to prefer.
On the abundance of wingers I’m of 2 minds on that. Acquiring the best assets & better internal competition it’ll provide. 2nd there will be a winger(s) traded sooner or later.
Team speed has to improve & Beau adds that along with his production. Pod will be expected to develop & be more of a power winger 3rd wheel. On Hog I think he’s a tweener that’ll be moved. Brock is a goner & only a matter of time. Garland I like & looks to be better utilized now.
This draft has to be a homerun there is no room for error. More trades are needed to keep on redesigning the roster is imperative. The D has to be the major focus. Cap management goes without saying & needs more flexibility. I’d like 1 key D added as in UFA Gavrikov if cost makes sense. - Nighthawk
The hope is they draft a top center and then just go with D. However, what’s on the table usually is the way things unfold. You can slide the BPA a few players up and down but it’s dangerous to reach based on position. |

Don’t worry cuz a F will be our 1st pick unless a reach or trade down happens. My money is on it’s a C. |

I think with the first pick they should take the Russian who will most likely be still on the table and then every pick draft the best D - VANTEL
Right shot D and C. Best players that fill the gaping holes in the depth chart and prospect pool....or dress an entire lineup of left handed shots. Which is kinda where things are heading at the moment. |

The timing of Demko coming off LTIR, audition perhaps? |

Hopefully they come up with some kind of plan and stick with it.

Earlier I picked a Stars/Canes final.
Still going with Dallas but the Av’s are fully on my radar. I have the Canes still beating the WC but after that less than certain. The East Arms Race has changed all of that. They don’t make a significant F add & they might make the conference final at best.
New guess is Dallas/TB
Av’s are closing fast & tbh it’s a toss up but sticking with my original West rep. TB with Vasi & a gut feeling have supplanted the Canes. |

Ballsy if true & would really be precedent setting in the FA era. He might have a jammer if it happens 🤪 |

Pretty much.
We do need left D also but that would be third on the list. Look at you being a goalie and all and not even suggesting a G.

I guess that depends on where that NYI 1st ends up & the sweetener needed. I’ve always said to have draft options in the back pocket but didn’t consider that one. That move would be with Reinbacher in mind if they feel he won’t fall to them. There a few other prospects that could be targeted dependent on what other trades happen before then. Moore & Danielson comes to mind. |

|
|
Yup, Add F Josh Bloom, Trade D Riley Stillman as the team is already deep at defence. Cap dump? |

Our own 1st picking a C I wouldn’t consider a reach. D I’m not seeing it but lots can happen up until draft day. |
