The Fitz interview by Amanda was great. He's definitely excited.. only said it about 10x. He mentioned Harris and Blitzer giving him the green light to sign guys like Palat, Tatar, the Hughes and Nico deals, and now Meier, and hopes to sign him long-term along with Bratt. He stressed Meier's age being only 26 as being huge, which to me further backs up the notion of signing him long-term. He also happened to mention the playoffs being a different animal and how size matters cuz the refs let more go and elbows go up a little higher. Gasp what crazy delusional person ever had that thought? Never said size was everything or even .. half the thing, but it helps to have size in best of 7 wars of attrition against the best teams in the league. But what do I know.

It does hurt to lose the large Russian. Idk if it's lip service, but Fitz seems high on him in the zoom conference, referencing that he could've played as a depth defenseman for us this year due to how he was playing overseas. Oh well. So the D depth for the foreseeable future..
Hamilton, Marino, Seigenthaler, Hughes, Nemec, .. and I say keep Graves on a 3yr deal for stability, and then we'll see if Hughes and Nemec can be the leaders of their pair to perhaps put a Casey or whoever next to. Bahl seems to be a good enough 7th D.. and should get a little better still.

No need to rush him as we didn't lose any major pieces from the roster where they can't be replaced for a couple games

Boqvist should be able to step in for zetts

And saw the devil's will look at any depth moves so that's positive

I like our chances given our speed. Plus your D and goalie are not on the same level as last year. All the pressure is on the Rags…..we’re playing with house money as nobody expected us to finish 3rd in the east. Can the Rags deal with the pressure is the question? I suspect they will be gripping their sticks a little too tight and you’ll be home after 1 round
