We should trade Severson then acquire Tom Wilson - RubberBiscuitz
Too many heads would explode with rage. Much like Tom Wilson himself often explodes with rage. Fitting. |

Our defense wouldn’t be so good after that |

I keep seeing people say go get Wilson or Domi
We don't have the assets for them as the caps will want a 1st at least for Wilson and they have no reason to move him
Not sure what Domi would get
I know we are excited about the team but we can't throw everything away for one season |

Tom Terrific has been very consistent in doing moves that are good for the team today and in the future. So I think we all just need to trust Fitzy. While he might throw a later pick (like a third) or a prospect to address a need, he's not going to waste any important assets.

We have been loaded up with picks and prospects for the last 10 years, and obviously we are now seeing the benefits of such translate to the NHL level.
However, you have to spend some to get some and I would be perfectly fine with giving up a few more picks or even a mid-level prospect to bolster our current lineup. We are not a flash in the pan team going for it, we are here to stay so I am not worried about our (immediate) future blowing up if we trade away another pick.
I will say I was disappointed to see Schenn go to TOR. Not only did he go to a potential playoff opponent in the ECF, but he would have been a nice upgrade over Smith. Plenty of playoff experience and lots of grit with some scoring ability - costing only a 3rd round pick too.
Oh well - let's see what Fitzy comes up with by Friday afternoon. I'm almost certain he isn't done.

I think Fitz is gonna go after Quick. They said LA and NJ were talking. MB is injured. Quick lands in CB which is stupid. I think we make a deal with CB to get Quick. Maybe MB gets shipped out ?
The devils cant go into the playoffs with an injured MB and inexperienced Shmid.

I think going for some goaltending help is fine, but Quick is 37 and has been bleeding goals. I don't see him play but from the stats, he looks pretty done. Not to mention the $5.8M cap hit; which would seem to make him a tough fit. |

CB would have to eat half...
But the more I think of it. CBJ gave a nice package to land him. Are they thinking they'd get equal value trading him off?
I rescind my theory. |

Doubt it. He's been awful and carries a 5.8M cap hit, that's tough to make work even with MB going the other way. Especially if Fitz is going to try to bolster the bottom 6 and/or D depth(which he has said he's looking for for). |

Agreed. Either of our AHL goalies are currently more competent than Quick is. He's been below the league average the past 5 years, and REALLY hit a wall this season (.875sv%) on a good LAK team.
We would be better off using the pick we'd use to get Quick and use it to upgrade our blueline. Then, roll with VV and Schmid until MB comes back. Unless MB's injury is a lot worse than NJD have lead us to believe.....then I agree you may have to look elsewhere for a veteran backup. |

Lots of mileage on those knees/hips. Especially the style that he plays.

He was quoted saying this earlier today (or last night):
"Progressing and I'm anxious to go and play but there's some thing you've got to fix first, get 100% ready. Listen to the body. Just working w the medical staff to get me out there in game action as soon as possible."
Doesn't sound like a guy who is ready to play just yet. |

He wont play tonight. Ruff says he should be cleared for contact in the next day or two, so I assume plays Sunday in Arizona or the first game back home on Tuesday. Zero reason to rush him |

The Rags power play is gonna be scary. Panarin and Kane are familiar with each other too. |

It’s beautiful. Now if we can just get Bratt to match 8x8 and Meier 9x8. I really don’t view Bratt as being worth more than that. I’m sure he could and maybe get more, but he’s not some offensive dynamo. He has his moments and will likely be a 70-80pt player.. but that’s why he gets 8mil cap hit.. which is a lot of money lol. Give him a nice signing bonus and let’s move on. This isn’t Ilya Kovalchuk we’re talking about, or Rantanen or even Hughes. |

I'd hate to lose Bratt, but he is NOT worth more than 8mil/year. I'm not just comparing him to Jack's contract because that right now is looking like the steal of the century.
