Did Jarnkrok ZAR and Sandin get traded?
- mr.sir

You spelled Engvall, Kerfoot and Holl wrong.

You mean just like last year when it was a matter of vasi vs Campbell, Campbell put up better numbers and vasi still won?
- joel878

I thought their numbers were almost eerily the same.

I felt Vasi made more key stops in that series though. Maybe that’s just my Leafs lenses though…

I’m afraid there will be a lot of leaf fans who get upset the team isn’t flooding the starting lineup with inexperienced youth lol

A college kid with no pro experience gets his start against TB in the playoffs? Yeah that I doubt.

Same idea about Timmins… defensively weak and that would show against TB big time

My guess these moves are being made so they don’t need to rely on the younger guys tbh.

Bunting Matthews Marner
JT O’Rielly Nylander
Lafferty Kampf Jarnkrok (Lafferty brings the toughness)
Kerfoot Acciari ZAR (Acciari has brought toughness to the line)
Engvall (a damn decent 13th)

Rielly Brodie
Giordano Liljegren
McCabe Holl (defensively solid as hell and now a lot tougher)
Sandin Timmins (good backups but too young and inexperienced to truly lean on as a cup contender)

Samsonov
Woll

And if Murray is going to be good to go maybe see Engvall moved for a cheap but reasonable option to get the necessary cap space.

Man, just reading the post and comments section on PPP and there is very little fanfare about this trade which I find perplexing.

McCabe isn’t a sexy defender but he’s solid defensively and it’ll be fun seeing him play on an actual legit contending team. He’ll provide Gio some rest and he’s locked up for another couple of seasons at 2M AAV - a nice piece of business by KD.

As per Lafferty, I’ve read good things about him from Hawks fans: he never takes shift off, is an elite skater, and has grit.

The team got better today. Perhaps not seismically better, but that bottom 6 group is looking very solid and… truculent.

Lastly, methinks Engvall will be gonzo. Then again, Kerf’s utility is now superfluous as we have Acciari and Lafferty now who can play C/W.

I like the thought of a ZAR-Acciari-Lafferty line. Just go out and hit everything in sight and chip in the odd greasy goal.

I’m guessing he’s more necessary on the third line to bring it some true post season toughness ability. Otherwise that line didn’t have that type of guy and that could hurt in a series.

Well, my point was that we're $1m over when Murray returns from LTIR so someone is leaving by Thursday one way or the other. Who would you trade was really my question. Kampf I think they'd definitely want for the playoff run. Engvall was a no-show last year, so that could be his queue to exit stage right. I guess we'll see.
- Monkeypunk

Oh it's Engvall for me

I think that sounds spot on Dozzer.

Edit: although I would argue you on Timmins. He's gonna surprise a few, I have a feeling.

Sklappmeister - have not seen your take on the neck thickness and lawnmower pulling skills of McCabe and Laffy Taffy.

Both seem like the type to bring some grit but am interested in your take - fully understanding they are not Poon Jenner and as such not giving you the full Booner you seek - more of a 6 to 10 type of thing vs 6 to 12?

I personally like the adds very much at the prices and now it appears the Leafs have sufficient talent to have someone with some jam on all 4 lines if Keefe decides to / sees a need to based on the opponent or style of game deploy his resources that way.

Jenner would be a good fit and only makes 250k more then Kerfoot, so the money juggling could easily work. But i agree with you on the were not getting Jenner part. He just started his 4 year deal so why would the BJ's bother and he would cost way to much, see Jeannot deal cuz that's what it would probably take imo.
If anything, Dubas should try and snag Korpisalo from them for goalie depth just in case. Riding a 913% on a poop team making $1.3 or $650k if retained.

So the Leafs got three forwards and a D, including ROR, without giving up a roster player or their top prospects. Go Leafs Go.

So with the arms race tightening up (let's assume Kane goes to NYR), what the hell is Carolina going to do?

JVR? Boeser? Schmaltz (apparently he's available)?

Jack wasnt able to steal a game. Vasi was....he stole game 7. Would have been nice if jack had stole game 6. But what can you do?

Kerfoot, Engvall and I could see Kampf walking to UFA this summer anyway. If Dubas is still GM he has seen enough of them to let them walk and sign somewhere else for more money they he'd pay (good for them. Get your money).
If a new GM comes in then he likely wants to see the old guard who couldn't get it done leave and bring in his own.

Anyway you slice it, a GM of the Leafs come summer has a good core in place and can make moves to change up the look of the team. I mean if Dubas can do it in season and not remove anyone from the active roster, then summer should be a breeze.

- Aaron_85

Laff and Acciari (if he extends) will replace kerfoot and kampf, engvall can go and he'll be replaced by steeves, mcmann or Holmberg.
Unless they can sign kampf on the cheap

id think Kerfoot is the one to go and probably Holl
makes enough room for Murray and Knies

wonder if Duby is saving the 2024 1st for one more move
