I can't believe how many public rinks in Toronto are closed right now because they are 'covered in snow'. Where'd the shovels go at? |

He was right probably about 75% of the time, but he just could never admit when he was wrong 25% of the time.
It was really sad how he felt he needed to defend to the death any stupid thing he wrote. - Atomic Wedgie
Alot of things he said did end up being correct, which added to the rage of some.
But it did go on for pages and pages.
Too many pages |

So when I looking at Kasperi Kapananen's underlying numbers following his visit to waivers, I found something that really stood out - something we all know about him: He has a decent number of Corsi events (shots toward the net), but a lower number of actual shots on net (these shots are blocked or intercepted or go wide at a higher than average rate) and a very low number of individual HD chances generated. It basically looked like someone who plays too often on the perimeter, or (knowing his speed) enters the zone, but holds up near the blue line and tosses the puck towards the net with little follow-up.
What I found interesting is that despite my thoughts that Max Domi would be a good addition to the Leafs, and my belief that perhaps he find his passion here - his name was right near Kapanen's in the same lists that I was looking at every time - so a similar player in many ways. Domi's one difference is that I do know he tries to setup Kane more than shoot or drive the net, but he is not frequently in the dirty areas.
He might not have been a good addition afterall. |

Not everyone goes hard to the net like Nylander.

Now we can stop the Domi talks. Lafferty is 10x better (cause he's a leaf)

Mirtles salary cap gymnastics piece on Dubas had him peg Bunting in next year at a 4 million per cap hit.

Tampa jumped the shark on Jeannot. Leafs did waaaaay better with their assets. Even if Jeannot turns out to be another Nick Paul, it's still a steep price to pay for a guy whose main talent is punching helmets.
Leafs will beat Tampa this year and run up against the Bruins. I hope they beat the Bruins and go all the way, but Boston seems almost unbeatable this year if Ullmark keeps cosplaying as an elite goalie.
