I don't like the idea of moving Holl. He'll be solid when pushed down on the depth chart. Dubas trusts him late in close games. Is he frustrating sometimes? For sure.

Kerfoot has some hustle and I expect him to have a bigger impact than Engvall. Giraffe can go.

- Whipper

They can both go. Kerfoot is useless with his hussle, they're both softer than butter.

Mine has an A on it.

Might be confusing to some young kids.

Still laugh when Big Z spun him in the air a few times.

Pour one out today for Wayne Simmonds.

He's never coming back to the Leafs.

Has he even reported to the Marlies?

- Atomic Wedgie

Why? He's going to get a ring.

I don't even know what Engvall provides. He's replaceable by just about anyone.

See ya.

he's not getting his name on the cup though

The official rule is that for a player to have their name engraved on the Stanley Cup, they must have played at least half the regular season (41 games) or one game in the Stanley Cup Finals for the Cup-winning team

13 games this year.

It's an interesting question. Would the team vote to put his name on the Stanley Cup?

I'm not so sure.

It sucks to see. He's a big dude with crazy reach and okay speed, but never gets dirty. Soft as Downy.

Can't the team vote to make an exception?

Let me google.

yes a team can petition to have a player added in the 52 spots they have even though he does not qualify

The team can "petition" to get a guy's name on, if he isn't eligible.

This article has a few examples:

I doubt Wayne makes the cut.

I like this trade - just did a quick check on McCabe and 6'1" / 204 and is a plus 7 this year on a terrible Hawks team bodes well.

Not sure if he will be "Sklappy approved" as he has averaged one lawn mower pulling exercise per year but seems to have held his own in them and a couple (including this years) seem to be the 'come to your teammates defence' type which the Leafs can use. Also not sure on the thickness of the neck - is it thick enough Sklappy?

I had it in my head that the team decides, but that's not the case.

I doubt the league would make an exception for a guy that played only 13 games, and less than two full seasons for the Leafs.

I expect some used to bring in actual young players too. They won't draft this many players.

I think that's more because of Kerfoot's (relative) value in a trade, rather than the Leafs picking Engvall over Kerfoot.

Engvall younger and faster. And Kerfoot gives us more room.

Kerfoot and Sandin to Van for Schenn and pick?
